These are the bodies of Harira Jubril, a pregnant Arewa woman from Adamawa, and her four underaged children. It is commendable that Peter Obi visited the family of Junior Pope. But why did he not also pay a similar condolence visit to the family of Harira Jubril, who was killed in Anambra on Sunday, May 22, 2022, by unknown gunmen in broad daylight, with her four underaged daughters, Fatima, 9; Khadijah, 7; Hadiza, 5; and Zaituna, 2. Is it because she and her children were 'Mallam' and 'Aboki' in Peter's eyes and therefore only worthy of his Yes Daddy "religious war"? Peter Obi's pattern of treating Northerners and other Nigerians from outside the Southeast differently from how he treats those either from or connected to Igboland is unbecoming of a man aspiring to be Nigeria's President. #TableShaker

Has anyone noticed that Peter “De Maradona” Obi @PeterObi usually post on his X handle all his activities including construction of inhumane borehole. But strangely he has not put out any post regarding his 3 visits to 3 northern elders due to his empathy for northerners. It’s either the Maradona is dribbling e-rodents or the empathized northerners. Lefa se fareh

Just look at the flippant way Peter Obj was talking about the deaths. "Roasted alive"! And this is a man who wants to be our President? How can you say your fellow human beings were 'roasted'? People with families that are grieving. And then a supposed elder statesman talks about their departed loved ones as though they were suya! No empathy. No sensitivity. Just pedestrian opportunism. Go and study the official report of the Kogi accident released by the Federal Road Safety Corp. It was caused by reckless driving, not bad roads. One driver, obviously fatigued after driving long hours from Port Harcourt, callously overtook another and hit the oncoming vehicle head-on. The road where it happened is in excellent condition. There was no pothole or diversion. It was a smooth road. But Peter Obi saw their deaths as an opportunity to score cheap political goals. This man is an ordinary trader. He is not a leader! #TableShaker

Solomon Dalumg, I searched for your handle on twitter but can’t find you hence this mode of reoly to your tweet about me and @aonanuga1956 . I would have loved to engage you assuming you offered an intellectually robust alternative to @officialABAT governance approach, rather than baseless insult. But when I recall how incompetent you were in the assignment given to you when you were a minister under Buhari to the point that an incompetent @MBuhari administration considered you too incompetent to be trusted for second a term, I realized the need to ignore you because your case is that of someone suffering from multi-dimensional incompetence You can’t reinvent the wheel Comerade incompetence

The good news is that it is projected that global food inflation will drop by the end of this year. So cheer up my people. For those Naija people in the US and UK cursing @officialABAT on social media, what they are not telling you is that im the UK they can’t wait to chase Rishi Sunak and in the US, you already know what’s up with Joe Biden. Suppose you buy Dangote noodles or spaghetti for ₦1000, your ₦1000 stays in Nigeria while you have value. If Dangote uses your ₦1000 to purchase raw materials from Ogun, that money creates employment in Nigeria. If that Ogun farmer uses your ₦1000 to pay his child's school fees, your money has gone into the future of Nigeria. And that is how the Naira will appreciate.  But if you buy Italian spaghetti with your ₦1000, the money immediately leaves Nigeria for Italy and strengthens the Euro, while devaluing the Naira, which leaves you poorer. Therefore, don't buy made-in-Nigeria because it Tinubu. Buy it for yourself.  Wear aso oke, Kaduna textiles, and Akwete cloth  Watch NTA, Channels and AIT Call with Glo  Drive an Innoson  Eat Dangote spaghetti  Don't spend your money on foreign goods and services with a made-in-Nigeria alternative! #GrowNairaBuyNaija

This idea that Tinubu has failed because kidnappers have killed 87 Nigerians in the FCT, Abuja since May 29, 2023, is silly. Please fact check me. 617 people were murdered in Chicago city alone in 2023. In New York City, 386 people were killed. In the first three weeks of 2024, there have been 70 murders in St. Louis, Missouri. Yet, you are saying Tinubu is a failure over 86 deaths in 7 months in the FCT, which is larger in land mass and population than Chicago, New York City, and St Louis combined? Put things into proper perspective. God willing, my party and candidate will defeat Tinubu and the APC in 2027. But until then, let us be patriotic and not push Nigeria to the brink because we laboured in vain! #TableShaker

I think you are mixing two things up. Saudi Arabia is a country recommended for worship in the two holy cities of Mecca and Madina any other city is free for all comers and is backed by strict Saudi Visa requirements. There are two visa regimes in Saudi Arabia, visa for Umrah ( lesser Hajj) and Hajj and the other for tourism and resident permits . The crown Prince is the custodian of the two mosque. No where is it stated that the Saudi’s are the best in Islamic practice and jurisprudence. Their Diplomatic rules is not connected to religion therefore relaxing same has nothing to do with religion. The same way that Northern Nigeria is afflicted with poverty which is not religion but thievery which every elite of a region is complicit in denying its citizens the benefit of a good life for their selfish aggrandizement. The North practices Islam by the book. There is no rules for the rich different from that of the poor. Islamic jurisprudence takes four things into account. 1. The Holy Quran, 2. The Hadith or Sunnah of the holy Prophet.3, The Qiyas and 4. The decision of the Ulama’u rashidun. It is not out of place to see the rich circumventing the law and doctrine through corruption or other vices. Or the poor displaying ignorance by killing innocent people in the name of religion. It still doesn’t remove the fact that Islam is Islam everywhere.

This Davido’s episode reminds me of when Lil Wayne traveled to Saudi Arabia & had a back & forth with the airport staff over their strict rules in view of Wayne’s colourful lifestyle. The Crown 👑 Prince 🤴 begged him not to leave Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 as he was furiously dashing back to his jet. The Crown Prince spoke to him immediately & directed the authorities to relax the rules. That evening the Crown Prince went to his hotel room to say "sorry". “His Excellency” gave him a $25k Franck Muller wristwatch, & a Lamborghini truck. This gesture alone tells you the difference between Saudi Arabia’s approach to Islam the approach to Islam in Northern Nigeria. And, therein lies the outcome from both practices. While the former has resulted to prosperity with 98% literacy rate, the latter has resulted to backwardness, Bokoharam, poverty, out of school children with less than 50% literacy rate in all but Taraba, Plateau & Nassarawa where a sizeable population do not follow that practice. The irony is that this statistics do not disturb the talking seals on social media, they do not even think it is “Haram” for a locally & internationally documented criminal to lead them. As a matter of fact, they are not worried as the destinies of children in the region are taken away in plain sight. Davido’s music is what they are palpitating about - tilting at windmills & dragging on straws as if their lives depends on it. Sick people, they even want to drag Yoruba Muslims into their “gestapo”. The Northern leaders really did overtime with your destinies. They have locked it up somewhere in the Sahara desert and thrown the keys to the lock in River Benue. Eyebe, conscience kpo fa? Pa bodi nomuo!…

Those that have imposed a visa ban on some "selected Nigerians" for allegedly "undermining democracy" and "rigging elections" are perfectly within their rights to do so because it is their country and they can do as they please. We should loose no sleep over that because the Nigerian people, a great and sovereign people who belong to a great and sovereign nation, spoke loudly and clearly and made their legitmate choices during the course of a set of free, fair and credible elections which have, to the glory of God, produced a President-elect and a set of Governors-elect who will all be duly sworn-in according to law on the 29th of this month. Wherever any of those elections may have been rigged or democracy undermined can only be properly determined by our election tribunals and courts after all the facts and evidence have been adduced, examined and determined and not by any distant and/or partisan foreign government or power. It is also my view that foreign policy, which ought to be based on the principle of equality of nations and conducted on the basis of reciprocity, requires the Nigerian Federal Government to consider the possibility of doing the same to nationals of those that have implemented and announced this measure and issue a visa ban to any foreign citizen or member of any corporate entity or institution that may have indulged in undermining democracy or rigging elections in either their own or any other country in the world over the last 25 years. Courage, equity, justice, fairness and mutual respect demands no less. The irony of it all is that the President whose Government has issued a visa ban on selected Nigerians for rigging has himself been accused of the most blatant and shameful election rigging in the history of their country by no less than his predecessor in office and millions of his fellow country men. That is a pertinent observation and a relevant point. The truth is that the world is becoming less tolerant of double standards, double speak, neo-colonialism, pseudo-imperialism, the hypocrisy and interference of big, rich and powerful countries, who believe that they own and rule the world, in the affairs of less rich and less poweful ones and the practice of what Lord Palmerston, Great Britain's 18th century Foreign Minister impudently and arrogantly enunciated and described as the implementation of a 'paternalistic foreign policy'. African leaders generally and Nigerian leaders particularly are not mice. They do not scramble and scatter at the sound of a gong and they do not quiver or wet their pants in the face of a gratutious insult, threat or storm. Gone are the days when Africans or their leaders shiver under their bedsheets and seek validation from more often than not ill-informed and ill-advised foreign Government officials with local vested interests and misplaced, malevolent intentions. Gone are the days when we sold our souls for a pittance or our people as slaves for mirrors and a bottle of "fire water" whisky. We are no longer configured to fear mere mortals. We have learnt that God alone is to be feared. That He alone is our shield and defender. That He alone is our glory. That He alone is the lifter of our heads. That He alone rules in the affairs of men and that He alone forges the destiny of nations. No nation on earth, no matter how rich and powerful, can thwart the will of the God of all flesh for our people or undermine the purpose of the Lord of creation for our country. All the visa bans in the world cannot change that. (FFK)

I really don’t like this. I see it as a dent upon the image of our country and its sovereignty. A whole former deputy senate president to serve a jail term in a foreign land?! What kind of country are we? I saw some pleas from different people for his release, most notably from former President Obasanjo and the Speaker of House of Representatives, but this isn’t enough. If Nigeria is serious on this issue,we should immediately summon a UK ambassador to Nigeria, express our displeasure with the situation, minding not the attitude of Senator Ekweremadu but on the institution he represents, then, perhaps, afterwards, negotiate within our diplomatic basket, for what we can give them in other to get him back to Nigeria. I am sure there are a whole lot of diplomatic give and take to tidy up and bring Senator Ekweremadu and his wife to serve their jail them in Nigeria. Why do we have a mutual legal assistance treaty with the UK? What are the terms? How can we improve on it? I don’t like the idea that a former deputy senate president is serving a jail term in the UK, honestly I don’t! Allowing such to happen started during Obasanjo’s administration, when they mistakenly, in the name of fighting corruption, allowed late Governor Alamesigha and former Governor Ibori to serve jail terms in a foreign land. That was a bad precedent and we should be mindful of such unwholesome, unpatriotic mistakes. Nigeria is a sovereign state with its laws, principles and justice system, equal enough to administer justice and apply sanctions on breach of law. We must stand up for our institutions and protect their sovereignty in the name of our national interests. Adamu Garba
