Japan is a small, densely populated island nation. China, meanwhile, is enormous, has the world’s second-largest economy, and is full of ghost towns with millions of empty homes. If the world is truly serious about accepting refugees and immigrants, why not send them to China instead? Why is Japan constantly expected to take them in when there’s a much larger country right next door with plenty of space and resources? The logic doesn’t add up.
