‘Tech companies believe in intellectual property, but not yours.” Great piece in The Atlantic pointing out that AI companies spend huge amounts of money simultaneously (i) defending their own IP and (ii) arguing that they can use other people’s for free. theatlantic.com/technology/202…

Non real estate rant: OMFG dealing w elderly parent medical issues, doctors visits, results etc from 2500 miles away is a nightmare. The medical system is broken. Cant talk to a live person.

@TraceyRyniec What ALL of us worry about here is the big one. Last major earthquake was the Nisqually Quake in 2001. Or another volcanic eruption.

@TraceyRyniec Yeah, that location is the highly desirable West Seattle and a close commute to so much. Foundations like that are everywhere here bc of all the diff types of topography builders work with. 2022 was the top. 500k better.

@ohsethy So cool! I have volunteered w this summer camp program in Seattle (it was founded in Portland) and can confirm that it’s a fantastic experience for the kids. I also play the drums starting at age 9. girlsrockcampalliance.org

@jillayne Oh yeah. It was right next to my sister’s house so they went and salvaged it and now my niece is playing the drums!

My 16 yo cooked a steak tonight for himself in the cast iron pan. When I came in from the patio I saw the pan soaking in water in the sink. The scream I screamed

@Jfcdoomblade Agreed. And also the songs they got permission to use were perfect for those scenes. I love this franchise so much!😊

One request I have for the next 28 YEARS LATER movie is that they bring back Young Fathers for the soundtrack. Their presence was sorely missed in THE BONE TEMPLE

Unusual request. You never know… I work with a non profit here in Texas as a board member. One of our programs is a residential youth program for troubled boys. We need a new home for the boys and have some flexibility in terms of location but it should be within an hour of an airport and hopefully just outside one of San Antonio, Austin, Dallas or Houston areas. Ideally it will be home to up to 40 boys + staff who lives on site. Commercial kitchen is a must and rooms for classrooms. Ideal properties are old camps, nursing homes that have some acreage, hotels with a little land etc. Outside of city limits is best because usually neighbors don’t love being next door. It’s a very important program but the budget is tight. We are looking for something we can fix up and improve over time. Let me know if you know of something!

@TheBrokeAgent It needs to make sense financially and professionally. Have a heart to heart with your managing broker for guidance. I’m sure she’s had this conversation many times.

Serious question: should I do my continuing education or just let my real estate license expire?

However the haiku has a darker, sadder meaning. You see, oftentimes we become numb to the “noise” in the homes that we grew up in. Years down the road you find yourself shocked at what you’ve accepted as normal just because of its frequency in your life. Yikes!
