When Brian Kelly showed up to Notre Dame, the fans and the team had gotten used to losing random games they shouldn't have. It took him a few years but he got them to a point where they won every game they were supposed to and his only crime was not winning enough of the ones we weren't favored in. He modernized the game day experience, recruited well, and did his duty for over 10 years. He wanted to go somewhere else because he thought they were greener pastures (just like any coach would) And it didn't work out for him. He's not a monster, or a terrible person, or a jerk, or any of that. He's a guy who won an insane amount of football games as head coach and if he wants to come back to hang out with the team and see the program in his current state, I think Notre Dame fan should embrace him. He did the best he could and it was better than almost anybody else would have been able to do.

“That was enough for me not to want to go back, but that’s me personally. I’m sure others have different opinions of it and I respect that as well, but to generalise that everybody is falling over backwards to come back to the PGA Tour is the same kind of propaganda we’ve had for four years.”
