BREAKING: Tim Cook stepping down as Apple CEO effective September 1.
John Ternus — SVP of Hardware Engineering, 25 years at Apple — takes over.
Cook becomes Executive Chairman.
Apple went from $350B to $4T market cap under Cook. One of the most consequential corporate tenures in American history.
Ternus inherits an Apple navigating tariffs, China exposure, and an AI race it is currently losing.
The political story starts now.

Ana Navarro: “Trump treats his followers as morons because they are willing to act as morons. We all saw January 6th, but he pretends it wasn’t an insurrection. We all see the tweet of him portraying himself as Jesus and then he pretends he’s a doctor and people go out there willing to act like trained seals at the aquarium clapping anytime this man says some crazy shit”

Trump said Friday that the Strait of Hormuz situation was "over." It very obviously wasn't.
Trump said Friday that Iran agreed "to never close the Strait of Hormuz again.” The next day, Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz again.
Trump said yesterday that Vance isn't going to Pakistan for the talks. Officials quickly said Vance is going to Pakistan for the talks.
Trump said this morning that Vance had left and would be there tonight Islamabad time. Officials quickly said Vance is actually leaving tomorrow.
Trump said Iran has no military anymore and that "everything's gone." Iran continues to have a military with destructive capabilities.
Trump said the pope issued a statement saying Iran can have a nuclear weapon. That never happened.
Trump said nobody expected Iran to retaliate against Gulf countries. That was widely expected.
Trump said the only planes the US has really lost in the war have been to friendly fire. He said this at the same event at which he had spoken at length about what happened after Iran shot down a US plane.
Story on the president's ever-growing number of false claims on big and small
matters related to the war – and his triumphant claims about supposed Iranian concessions that we just can't assume are based in reality: cnn.com/2026/04/20/pol…

Jon Cooper on D'Astous: "He is doubtful for tomorrow, which is unfortunate. He has been a great story for us and for himself. You like to see good things happen to good people. He is going to be doubtful for tomorrow but we've got Crozier and Carlile ready to go in and they have really helped us at the end of the year so one of those guys will get in"

The administration has decided that because of the Supreme Court decision, it will now give back more than $166 billion collected in tariffs.
In the history of the worst self-inflicted policy debacles, the administration’s tariff policies should be on the short list. There is no redeeming value at all to the whole sordid affair.
They were wasteful of government time and money.
They harmed the economy and US companies and did nothing to restore US manufacturing.
They fleeced consumers who will not get the money back that was paid in higher prices.
Since the administration is now reimbursing US companies, it’s admitting by its actions (if not its words) that that the tariff critics were right all along and that Trump was obviously wrong. That is the very definition of failure.
They set a terrible legal precedent that thankfully the Supreme Court corrected, but which along with other instances of bending the law, generally undermine the rule of law.
Any other money collected from tariffs that still remain in the US Treasury were still taken out of the US private economy and thus is still not available for investment, hiring new employees, paying wages and other things that American companies need to do.
They represented a blatant abdication of Congress’s constitutional role in our system of government.
Did I leave a behind out?

This is a moment I gained a lot of respect for @andersoncooper. Piers Morgan told a hostage family *on air* that someone their daughter was held with was dead. He wanted the moment on air for shock value.
Cooper could have done that to the Goldberg-Polin family. He chose not to. That was really instructive about who he is as a person.

🇮🇱🇵🇸 Anderson Cooper was mid-interview with Hersh Goldberg-Polin's parents when he realized he had already seen their son. In the abduction footage. He told them after the cameras stopped rolling.

The #GoBolts knew heading into Game 1 there was a balance between playing with emotion & avoiding the kind of penalties that could swing a playoff game.
In the end, special teams became the difference ⤵️
