At the Transatlantic Gas Security Summit in Washington, D.C., the discussion was not theoretical - it was about who in Europe is building alternatives and who is still explaining why they cannot. Croatia has chosen. With the expansion of the Krk LNG terminal to 6.1 bcm per year, we now operate one of the key entry points for diversified gas supply in this part of Europe. The terminal is fully booked, with dozens of LNG carriers arriving each year. Since 2021, more than two-thirds of cargoes have originated from the United States - a clear indicator of the strength and credibility of our transatlantic partnership. This is structural change, not symbolic diversification. At the Summit, discussions focused on strengthening Europe’s energy security and advancing the next phase of U.S. - EU LNG cooperation. Energy security today is a strategic pillar of resilience, competitiveness and geopolitical stability. Croatia has positioned itself as a reliable regional energy hub. Together with strengthened gas interconnections toward Central and Southeast Europe, the Krk terminal enables secure and diversified supply routes for the wider region. The Summit reaffirmed our shared commitment to: ✔️ diversification of supply routes ✔️ resilient and interconnected infrastructure ✔️ market transparency and stability ✔️ long-term transatlantic energy cooperation 🇭🇷 has chosen to lead where others hesitate - and we will continue to anchor Europe’s energy security in action, not rhetoric.

Hungary and Slovakia have asked Croatia to guarantee the transit of Russian oil through the Adriatic pipeline, since "Ukraine refuses to resume oil transit via 'Druzhba' for political reasons," according to Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjártó. Once again, the Hungarian leadership has revealed its nefarious nature by distorting the facts. On January 27, Russia launched an attack on the Druzhba pipeline, which led to problems with transit. Neither Hungary nor Slovakia has uttered a single word against Moscow in this regard—allegedly, Ukraine is to blame for everything. It's even more despicable when you consider how they asked Trump to remove them from the sanctions list, claiming they have no other way to transport their oil except via the Druzhba pipeline. But then they backtracked, and suddenly it turned out the Adriatic Sea is also a good pipeline route. But these traitors are only interested in the transit of Russian oil.
