Hiring: Backend / AI Engineer (1–3 years) We're building self-improving storefronts at Brink. Think: • AI agents • Rust + Python • Real-time systems • Distributed infrastructure • Convincing shoppers to buy things they were already thinking about buying 😄 You'll probably enjoy this if: - You have side projects. - You think production is a feature. - You've asked an LLM to write code and then spent 2 hours fixing it. - You like building things from scratch. Based in Bangalore (remote to start). DM me with something you've built that you're proud of.

Add OpenAI/Anthropic tokens/credits to this?
Zishaan Hayath@Zishaan

@banglani Better still: All VCs form a collective and buy Google, FB and Amazon credits at discount that can be invested in startups. Extend similar offer to print and TV media. Even better: Get them as LPs in exchange for credits.

The biggest RL Hackathon in the world is happening next weekend in the campus of @Scaler_SST next weekend. 1500 finalists from 75000+ participants will be building RL environments. Looking for mentors to guide people, and take sessions. You must have prior experience with RL. Best place to meet solid young talent in the AI space, along with @AIatMeta and @huggingface tech mentors. My DMs are open, ping if you've worked on RL and can join as mentor.

Looking for enterprise codebases in languages that are relatively rare in the Open Source World, primarily: C#, Scala, COBOL, Sysverilog/Verilog, PHP, Kotlin, CUDA, Fortran, ABAP, OCaml, Slang. The purpose is to teach next generation of machines and humans. Cost not a constraint for a rich repo! X, do the magic!

Looking to connect with folks who actively work in 'legacy-ish' / niche stacks like COBOL, modern Fortran, Ada, Verilog, Erlang/Elixir, Perl. If you’ve shipped real systems in any of these (or know someone who has), my DMs are open – want to route you to some interesting opportunities. If you haven't, please 🔁 for good karma.

Let that sink in... a platform built from the ground up just streamed over 72.5MN fans at the same time. With personalized ads, real‑time commentary, rich match analytics and a tidal wave of emotions all holding steady. A double win for the @JioHotstar engineering and product teams... we broke global streaming records and then stayed on to celebrate India lifting the T20 World Cup trophy together.

@jiten Insightful read! Minor add-ons: - AVIF(s) are often 20-50% smaller compared to WebP. Use for fallbacks. Browser support is strong now. Refer: ctrl.blog/entry/webp-avi… - Responsive srcset + sizes lets browser pick perfect variant (so no huge desktop images on mobile)

@jiten Hi @jiten , this looks like an amazing opportunity! While I see you’re hiring senior engineers, I have about 1 year of experience in backend and AI-related work. Is there any position or pathway for someone at my level to contribute to the Live Streaming team?

@jiten In the past 2 weeks, I have stopped paying for Akiflo and Rosebud with a far superior vibe coded product for myself now.

I think I finally understand why people keep saying SAAS is dead though I keep buying more and more SAAS at workplace. (1/3)

@TheKatareKid Maybe more build vs buy decisions will change towards build. That should confirm the b2b saas theory too.

That’s not the reason. Although what you are experiencing is also true, but that was never the SaaS TG. You were the prosumer in your example. The issue with a lot of b2b saas, now, is that it doesn’t add enough value for the money they charge. And definitely not a recurring per seat value. (Comparison is va building) Then there is the issue of getting locked in to a saas. Instead companies will opt for building their own from scratch with only the specific things they need if it takes a few hours/days to do it. And occasionally maintain, iterate as well. They are anyway paying for Claude et al and not writing the code. That said, it still depends on where you are in the company lifecyle and do you have the time to do it. And if you have time why are you not chasing revenue instead of reducing this cost 😛

The bar for the type of SAAS I buy personally has gone up (I shouldn't be able to build it in one sitting). I feel enterprise SAAS will continue to thrive but b2c SAAS will have to figure out better pricing. (3/3)

It's because a lot of products I use and pay for personal use are increasingly being replaced by chrome extensions and small utilities I have now written for myself. Vibe coding has replaced shell scripts and Greasemonkey scripts for me. (2/3)
