I think the things i’m currently most excited about (cc0 nft brands/universes, on-chain games, nft financialization, etc) are more like DeFi in that they'll be consensus much sooner very few predicted the ascension of nft's / pfp's in 2018/19

- hyped at the time, brought a new kind of user in (or had no hype) - broadly dismissed as toy/too early for 2-3 years - the medium it introduced ultimately comes to define the next era
