@JesseBWatters @RepLuna If all this is true, those who knew about this and stayed silent are complicit. Shame on those on the hill and these reporters. You allowed evil to roam our hallowed halls and you robbed women of justice.

Paige Rogers is a sophomore at a Christian college in Kentucky who was fired from her job at a local coffee shop because she answered questions from two coworkers about her beliefs. They asked Paige about her beliefs on marriage, sexuality, and other topics. She answered honestly and respectfully, and a week later received a text saying that her employment was being terminated immediately because she had violated policies about workplace conduct. Ridiculous. Paige is right—no one should be fired for respectfully sharing their religious viewpoints—especially when asked. Would you pray for Paige and share an encouraging word in the comments below? foxnews.com/opinion/cowork…

@roddreher @JustinTHaskins I'm sorry for what he's going through, especially for his family, but pls tell me that you're not comparing his face to the unrecognizable, tortured face of Christ, the Son of God, after He willingly gave His life for us as sinners.

The church which formed closest to Jesus and those who knew him on Earth very clearly practiced socialism. The government of the Christian is on Jesus' shoulders. Christianity is socialism at its core, it's just not the Bernie Sanders socialism. Bernie Sanders socialism isn't even socialism.

Coming to believe ~90% of the political differences among Christians boil down to a failure to distinguish between the Biblical roles of the individual, the church, and the State. No, God did not command governments to forcibly redistribute wealth. Yes, God commanded Christians as individuals to practice charity. Individual Christians in Acts “gave willingly and not under compulsion.” Christians in Acts did not vote for the Emperor to increase the marginal tax rate and call that “generosity.”

@TonyWigginsha @DOWResponse @SecWar As for “Christian values” I don’t think you’d even be pleased with allowing Christian content, as there are a lot of liberal Christians who I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t agree with, those who embrace gays & trans people for example

@ImaPrivate @TonyWigginsha @DOWResponse @SecWar This verse is assuming a couple of important distinctions: 1. "the stranger" did not break the law to enter the land of the Israelites, and 2. "the stranger" wants to assimilate with the Israelites... learn their ways and live peaceably with them. Not apples to apples.

Five-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos, the boy whose ICE detention in Minnesota sparked global outrage after he was taken away wearing a blue bunny hat and carrying his school backpack, is still living with the trauma, his parents told CBS News' @camiloreports in an exclusive interview. More than two months later, they say Liam is no longer the same child: He’s afraid to go outside, asks if police are ICE, and worries they will “take me away again.” His parents say he is now getting support, but fear the emotional scars from his time in detention may not heal quickly.

I have a better idea, stay home and help some one with that money, and pray in the closet with the door closed like Jesus commanded us to. Why don't Christians believe Jesus and do what he said for us to do, Jesus said if we don't than we don't love him? Has anyone even read God's word?

@Andrew_Esqueda @howertonjosh Correct. Context is king in biblical interpretation. What is your proof that neither historical nor cultural context was applied?

@jjautiger @howertonjosh Again, proof texting w/out historical context isn’t an argument. There’s no theological interpretation happening here, just random opinions to fit an ideological framework. Serious biblical scholars use historical and sociological context. The onus is on the one “arguing”

// RE: Hegseth praying imprecatory Psalms about Iran // 1) Romans 12 commands Christians, "Do not take revenge, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written, 'Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.'" (v19) 2) The obvious question = "Hmmm... How's God's wrath come on evil wrongdoers before Final Judgment? Are we really just supposed to stand idly by and let evil people advance evil?" 3) Paul answers exactly that question 3 verses later when he explains that governing authorities have been "instituted by God" and "bear the sword" (lethal force) as "a servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer." (Rom 13v4) 4) TRANSLATION: The Bible differentiates between the role of the INDIVIDUAL (who must not take revenge) and the role of the STATE (who is commanded to "avenge" evil, because "evil never stops itself, it must be stopped.") 5) So, when Iranian Christians whose families are being slaughtered by Islamic Iranian leaders choose not to take personal vengeance, but pray imprecatory Psalms asking God to give them justice... - They're doing what Romans commands them to do: Not taking vengeance but asking God to avenge them - Biblically, one thing they're praying for is a government to take up its God-given role to "bear the sword" and to both STOP and AVENGE the evil being done against them 6) So, when an appointed government leader invokes imprecatory Psalms in his office against overtly evil people doing overtly evil things as he engages in a Just War (Augustine), that government leader is... - Praying in alignment with the way God's wrath is supposed to be carried out on earth - Acting in line with the way God's wrath is supposed to be carried out to stop and avenge evil - Is himself one way God answers the prayers of unjustly suffering and persecuted Christians SUMMARY: Whether the war in Iran is a Just War is totally up for fair-game debate, I've seen compelling arguments both ways! But there is nothing wrong (and a lot right!) with a government leader praying in line with Romans 13 for the government to accomplish its God-given role as a servant of God's wrath to take vengeance against the wrongdoer.

The problem is their prayers are only for theater. I wish you would see that. Even the devil can quote scripture. "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." ~ Ephesians 6:12

@Andrew_Esqueda @howertonjosh What's your interpretation, Chief? Will be helpful if not necessary to cite other biblical references since serious Bible scholars allow Scripture to interpret Scripture where applicable.

@howertonjosh Dude, you just made up these interpretations. Interpretations that are utterly unchirstological and wholly ideological. It’s so much more convenient to make scripture align with your ideological commitments than it is to have your ideological commitments reformed by scripture.

@Liz_Wheeler No mortal has the authority to change doctrine. God's Word alone sets doctrine. Those pastors who are "changing" doctrine to fit with the culture or individual preferences will be held accountable, and that is not going to go well for them in God's accounting.

When the Pope makes questionable comments, it makes me GRATEFUL to be Catholic. Because the Pope has no authority to unilaterally change Catholic dogma with his pastoral comments. The Pope speaks in two ways, pastorally and rarely, infallibly (called ex Cathedra, which requires a certain set of specific circumstances as the Pope acknowledges, not invents, a doctrinal interpretation). The latter almost never happens. That’s important— His comments today are in his pastoral capacity. He wasn’t speaking ex Cathedra. Catholics aren’t required to agree with his opinions. It’s annoying for sure, I wish the Pope was a wiser leader on matters of politics. But I’m SO grateful to be Catholic because imagine he were the leader of a Prot church—he could change doctrine based on his own faulty opinions at a whim. That’s not the case with Catholicism. Grateful to God for His Church that remains as it always was and always will be despite the turmoil of the world and the sins of man. 🙏🏼

@NEWSMAX I've never witnessed more un-Christian behavior than what comes from these so-called Christians in the GOP. They lie, cheat, steal & spew hate like no other. The Christian religion needs true Christians who walk the walk & act as Jesus would. Not Christians in name only.

James Talarico... you can't love your neighbors and abort them. If you wouldn't want to be poisoned and dismembered, then why do you support that option for babies? You cannot love your neighbors and support the destruction of their bodies via wrong sex hormones, puberty blockers, and double mastectomies. The gender-deceived kid who was illegally rendered permanently sterile is your neighbor. You can't love your neighbor and support the infiltration of illegal foreign criminals who will kill them. Jocelyn Nungary, a teen who was murdered by two illegals in Houston, was your neighbor. You can't love your neighbor and call for the abolition of prisons, which you have, James Tallarico. Jacqueline Wilson was a Houston mom of four, 32 years old. She was reportedly murdered by her ex-boyfriend who was released from prison by a progressive judge despite being a violent offender. She was your neighbor. You can't love your neighbor and deny the gospel that saves their souls as you have so many times when you've asserted that all religions point to the same truth that Jesus points to. You can't love your neighbor and support the chaos that kills them. You can't love your neighbor and lie to them. You can't love your neighbor and affirm sin. You can't love your neighbor while hating the things that God hates and loving the things that satan loves and you do. You are an insult to Christianity. Your beliefs are an affront to the Imago Dei and I look forward to Texans showing you out of politics in November and hopefully you are shown out of the pulpit as well.
