Only in America can a kid wear $150 shoes, sip a $8 coffee, and post from a $1,200 phone about being oppressed and claiming capitalism has failed them.

I am one of multiple Lumberton panthers to be selected for all-team area, and our only Offensive lineman. Beyond grateful to be chosen, thanks to my brothers, we get 1 more shot together, let’s make the most of it! @coachjladner @LumbertonFBall

The high school Home Run Derby is kind of electric right now. Jacob Parker (Mississippi State commit) just hit a BOMB into right field as time expired to tie for the championship.

@simonateba I can hear a voiceover narrator breaking in saying: “And during this chaotic time, a 26 year old future president, Joseph Biden, drove the 18 wheeler that delivered the supplies to the convention. To this day there are ice cream stains on the seat of that rig.”

ECHOES OF 1968: The last time a Democratic President, Lyndon B. Johnson, announced, just months before the presidential election, that he would not seek re-election for health reasons, their convention, just like this year, occurred in Chicago. Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated before the open convention. The chaos was so great that the Youth International Party nominated a pig named Pigasus for president and demanded that the pig receive Secret Service protection. Eventually, Vice President Hubert Humphrey won the nomination but lost to Republican Richard Nixon, who was later forced to resign. (Just replace each name there with what we have today, and you can predict what would likely happen) WATCH Below is what happened in 1968. NOTE: In late March of the election year 1968, President Lyndon B. Johnson made a surprising announcement: "I shall not seek, and I will not accept the nomination of my party for another term as your president." NOTE: While many believed his decision was primarily due to the escalating Vietnam War, later revelations indicated that concerns about his health played a significant role. NOTE: Johnson's withdrawal left the Democratic field wide open, already populated by candidates such as Eugene McCarthy, a strong anti-war advocate, and Senator Robert F. Kennedy, a prominent political figure. This set the stage for a fiercely contested convention. NOTE: The Democratic National Convention in Chicago became infamous for its chaos and division. Just before the convention, tragedy struck when Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated, which further destabilized the race. NOTE: With Johnson out, Vice President Hubert Humphrey entered the fray, facing anti-war candidates and a divided party. NOTE: As nearly 10,000 protesters descended on Chicago, they were met by a heavy National Guard presence, resulting in violent clashes. NOTE: Inside the convention hall, tensions mirrored those in the streets, with delegates fiercely debating the nomination. NOTE: Despite the tumult, Humphrey secured the nomination but ultimately lost the general election to Richard Nixon (who was almost forced to resign) NOTE: The 1968 convention remains one of the most chaotic and divisive in Democratic Party history.
