@MegRemSoftball It’s bad…I have written to @USASoftball umpire coordinator in PA (home state) that I have seen plays that would be a 15 yard penalty in FOOTBALL go completely unchecked. There’s always a way to do things and a way not to do things.

There is a right way to play this game and a wrong way and this is 100% in the wrong. I don’t care that the batter moved back out of the box- you don’t intentionally step back to throw at her head, as hard as you can, from about a foot away. I don’t want to hear “you don’t know it wasn’t intentional.” Save it. The runner at 3rd is about a half step off 3rd. The way the catcher is positioned to throw, that throw is going towards the 3rd base fence. The most telling part though? No one checks on that batter and catcher gets a high five right after from her coach. The batter ended up with a concussion. This is completely unacceptable and has no place in this sport.

@Pitt2010TS @WPIAL_Insider They have to already. At least in McKeesport School District to get hired. Not sure there is ongoing testing. Also they should be required.

Aliquippa is thinking about implementing this drug testing policy. What are your thoughts on this? And should more schools do this in the WPIAL?

Good luck to all wrestlers set to compete in NCAA Wrestling Championships which get underway today. Especially the 21 former WPIAL wrestlers-what a sense of pride. It’s an incredible number; so many from such a small area. The grind, grit and toughness all have showed is amazing.

@DArealCoachBill It goes of boys in 9-11 grade, not students. It’s also self reported so there’s that issue. WH reported 421 and Shaler 412. Shaler is the biggest 4A in the state.

How is Shaler in 4A with 1200 Students 🤔😅😂🤣

@TheBarnSession Casual fans will never tune in for these style of matches. Unfortunately some sports take pride in that and wrestling is one of them. That’s fine but don’t complain when trash is on ESPN instead of these tournaments.

30 seconds that should reshape what Folkstyle wrestling defines as a takedown. It shouldn’t be hard to understand that the offensive wrestler in this position should be rewarded for his efforts. If the officials continue to protect the defensive wrestler, we will continue to see less and less offense. What would you rather see? A shootout or a match decided in tiebreakers because of riding time? I know my pick.
