A Hampton Inn I stayed at 7 months ago (May 16–17, 2025 in Crestview, FL) called me TODAY because Booking.com underpaid them $1.26 for my reservation. Because Hilton + Booking couldn’t reconcile $1.26, the hotel had to refund Booking’s virtual card and then call me to charge my personal card The GM was kind and professional—this isn’t on her. But the fact that two multi-billion-dollar companies are pushing a $1.26 accounting error onto the customer months later is unreal. No guest should ever be contacted over something like this. I hope all parties involved take this seriously—and consider how to make this right for the people caught in the middle.
