@kzs321 not sure what your calibration method is but drive + azimuth has been very common, usually you reseed with imu but some do without

ということでLiDARレス、IMUレス、計測輪レスで最強の位置推定ができたので自慢をします swerveのエンコーダーだけでオドメトリ! ちなみにomniは同じ動作で0.5-1.5mずれるのでゴミです

ok anthropic has to have gotten sick of everyone telling them their per-model gains are terrible so they lobotomized opus. my name is in my claude account. what's going on.

I can’t believe there is no script on github to calibrate camera and LiDAR without printing huge Aprilgrids with sparkling tin foil. I will let you know how this goes - Monitor-Only in office calibration!

@SnazzyLabs I don’t think the action of dragging a .app into Applications is necessarily bad on its own but compressing an app with a separate file extension and opening up multiple compressed installers to install multiple apps is not good UX imo

if you poast about using any sort of so100 style arm to “solve industrial robotics” I hope a bird poops on you, especially if you have zero published papers/preprints and don’t work in industry. you’re missing the point. stop clogging my feed please.

@Adit60299501 volume depends on how long im willing to sit and scroll reels for.

@Adit60299501 so there are multiple approaches, one is to fit numerous small models that each correct for a different type of error such as arxiv.org/pdf/2601.16638. there are other frameworks that basically add a virtual joint in the middle of each link to act as a mimic for the bending load.

@KuviacM @DOWN1NG velocity at end effector is limited by the coefficient of friction preventing the payload from shearing the payload off the ee magnets. recal prob is time involved, not hard but time spent calibrating is time spent not doing productive things like scrolling twitter or reels.

@jlr_sh @DOWN1NG what's the fastest velocity the 400kg payload-moving robot is doing? also why is recalibration / w.e. stuff preferable to do once a year; what makes it hard?

@KuviacM @DOWN1NG one is reaching 14 ft away with 400kg payload and one is reaching less than 4ft with maybe 5kg payload at max. scale matters. movement type doesn’t actually matter, industrial robots do limited movements because most ppl don’t use them as robots but pick and place machines.

@jlr_sh @DOWN1NG i feel like surgical vs industrial robots is incredibly close; in surgical robots we're ofc doing a lot more wild and often novel movements in 3d, industrial robots tend to do limited movements consistently but still basically the same problem, solutions tend to translate

@benc0nrad all that to say that yes, it’s a somewhat large issue but in mfg there are tons of large ish issues that add to big issues so it’s not completely doomed, things are just hard, but easy things are alr done

@benc0nrad theres not a single arm mfg anywhere that does this, while arm imprecision is part of the tolerance stack, there are ofc other parts such as RTU and material imprecision as well as tool mfg tol that adds up.
