I'm an IBEW Local 666 journeyman electrician in Richmond, VA. Foreman on commercial jobs during the day. At night, I build software with AI tools. I don't have a CS degree. I don't have a co-founder. I don't have funding. Thread

The funniest thing is when I get DMs from accounts with 4 followers offering to help me grow on X 😅😅

@LauraLunaTech I had to get my agent to scrape the tech news daily to keep up with this. Are you planning to work this into a future build? The Stripe Custom Objects, Consoles, and Database previews seem like a great way to streamline SaaS's as well.

Many people still think of AI as a chatbot or Google alternative. Stripe just showed the next phase: AI agents with secure wallets. The AI agent economy was still missing one thing: a trusted payment layer. Agents can now: - book and pay for your flights - pay for or purchase subscriptions - make purchases for you What do you think will be the most common use case going forward?
Stripe@stripe

Today, we’re launching the @link wallet for agents. It lets you securely empower agents to spend on your behalf. Your payment credentials are never exposed and you approve every purchase. link.com/agents

Remember the construction plans I FOIA'd? Bender and I had this whole idea to build a web app foremen could query instead of digging through 100+ pages of drawings and specs. Turns out, we're about a year late to that party 😂 Thankfully, we have a backup play to pivot to

@QiaochuYuan That makes WAY more sense than the battery angle. Don't they have whole factories in India where people do menial tasks with cameras on for robot training data?

My next build is starting to gather some steam. Did something I never would've done 6 months ago: FOIA'd the Virginia government for a full set of construction plans for a state building. They sent them for free. More updates coming when I have something to show

Plugin-based architecture @openclaw is a massive W. No more bloated binaries! 📦 Just installed the Codex harness as a standalone plugin - clean, fast & modular. This is how pro CLI tools should evolve. Kudos to @steipete & team for the heavy lifting! 🛠️ #OpenClaw #AI #DevTools

"Always check your agent's work" is the lesson I learned this week. Bender told me that our WordPress plugin was compliant with their guidelines. Turns out, it was in direct violation of of rule number 5 which I neglected to read because he said we were good. Lesson learned

@pmarca This is what keeps me up at night. What can be done by the people or the frontier labs to prevent this from happening? Or is it simply inevitable?

China just open-sourced a trillion-parameter model that burns fewer tokens than your favorite "efficient" US model. Ling-2.6-1T is now public, inspectable, and benchmarkable. The closed-model moat just got smaller.

One of the most valuable things my agent does for me runs every morning at 7 AM. Bender scrapes the tech news and identifies plays we could make to get ahead of the market. My plugin in WordPress review and the bigger thing I'm scoping next both came from this.

I fired up openclaw just to see what I'm missing out on and to not get left in the dust. I expected a deeper chatbot and discovered a business partner. Now I wake up at 3 AM excited about the startup we're crafting with new ideas flooding out. But more on that later.

@pmarca We certainly are. Instead of waiting on the sidelines to see how everything shakes out like the majority of my contemporaries, I'm diving in head first.

3 months ago I barely knew what WordPress was. Today I have a fully functional AI plugin under review. AI has opened doors I never thought I'd see the other side of. And I want more.

@simonw Genuine question, has anyone tried this on hour-long jobsite audio? HVAC guys talking over running compressors is a worst-case. If it handles that, there's a real construction-tech use case here.

Microsoft's MIT licensed VibeVoice speech-to-text model (think Whisper with speaker diarization) is really good - my notes on running the 5.71GB 4bit MLX conversion on an M5 MacBook, using about 60GB of RAM at peak and transcribing 1hr of audio in ~9 mins simonwillison.net/2026/Apr/27/vi…
