@ninatraaann @abhornUCRedu Hi Nina, I agree that student athletes prioritize sports and academics and careers are put on the back burner. There should be support and guidance when they stop pursuing a athletic career due to them sacrificing so much during college. #ucr50 @TA_ED50

College Athletes are pushed to always put sports over academics. When graduating or when college athletes choose to pursue a non athletic career there should be resources given to them. It is a hard transition trying to find a career after college sports #UCR50 @TA_ED50

@wgerv001 @abhornUCRedu Hi Wendy, I definitely believe college athletes should be able to capitalize and make money off of their Name, Image and likenesses due to the fact that college athletes make so much revenue college institutions as a whole #ucr50 @TA_ED50

Should college athletes be allowed to make money from their name, image, and endorsements? College athletes put in so much time and dedication into the sport they enjoy playing, but are never given the credit for what they deserve. @abhornUCRedu #UCR50 #UCR50horn

@ImDario27 @TA_ED50 many of these athletes invest an incredible amount of timeninto their sport. Providing them the opportunity to benefit from their own image and likeness seems completely fair. #UCR50 @TA_ED50

@Cassy_04garcia @KatryaLy Yes , I definitely agree that there should be a diverse group of coaches that represent their student athletes! It shows the union and equality throughout the program for these student athletes #UCR50 @TA_ED50

White football coaches are hired at an disproportionately high rate to black and other minority coaches. Student athletes deserve to be coached and mentored by people who represent them. Do universities have a responsibility to diversify their athletic staff? @KatryaLy #UCR50

College athletes put in a great deal of hours practicing, competing, and representing their schools. These athletes live in a environment that limits them the opportunity to partake in the financial rewards of their own success. #UCR50 @TA_ED50

Women sports have broken down barriers and accomplished incredible measures thanks to Title IX, highlighting the significance of equity and representation in athletics. #UCR50 @TA_ED50

Promoting racial diversity and interaction in college athletics is beneficial as it contributes to a more inclusive and positive campus culture. It is also essential for the mental health and well-being of all students. @KatryaLy #UCR50

Even with the incredible accomplishments, women's sports are still not given the attention they deserve in the media, in sponsorship deals, or in general. #UCR50 @TA_ED50

@AAlmarez80596 @abhornUCRedu I agree that student athletes should be accommodated with sources for facilities and dining halls to be open longer and even earlier because of their schedules it would help a lot to have the ability to have more hours to accomplish their schedules. @TA_ED50 #ucr50

I feel that cause athletes, and do need some special commendations because they are representing the college in a sense. As in certain buildings stay open longer for athlete students like dining halls and libraries @abhornUCRedu #UCR50

It's important to recognize that stereotypes are often unfair and do not represent the diverse and multifaceted lives of student-athletes. Many excel academically, balance their commitments effectively, and have a range of interests and talents beyond their sport #ucr50 @TA_ED50

@ninatraaann @abhornUCRedu Schools need to provide academic support services, encourage efficient time mgmt, improve financial aid opportunities, encourage mentorship, enforce academic accountability & foster a culture that values both athletics and academics in order to prevent burnout #UCR50 @TA_ED50

Should professors be more lenient on college athletes and due dates since D1 athletes spend more than 40 hrs/week on sport related activities excluding extra workouts, team bonding etc. #UCR50 @TA_ED50

I believe coaches don’t get paid an unfair amount because of how much revenue is being made within the sport programs. I do believe players should be paid because at the end of the day the revenue comes from the players on the court entertaining the fans! #UCR50 @TA_ED50

@danieIaruiz @abhornUCRedu While I completely agree with you, I do believe that the funds allocated from athletics do get dispersed to different programs and areas in need for the university. these sports bring in lots of revenue for the school and should be fairly compensated for it. #ucr50 @TA_ED50

It’s unfair how much coaches make in comparison to professors and faculty members. They do bring value to campuses but there’s programs/departments that are more deserving of these funds that do more to promote the academic mission of universities.@abhornUCRedu #UCR50 #UCR50horn

@ninatraaann @abhornUCRedu Hi Nina ! I agree that athletics tends to forget and not acknowledge the mental health of student athletes. The amount of commitment and work that goes into being a student athlete can really put a toll on someone’s mental health if not balanced correctly! #ucr50 @TA_ED50

Interesting to see the O'Bannon v. NCAA case, which marked a turning point in regards to the fairness of compensating college athletes. The recent adjustments to NIL policy shows an evolution in how we view student-athlete rights and opportunities in real time #UCR50 @TA_ED50
