@jmerline Just read your article about California. You bet we know we’re getting ripped off and also know Ca is corrupted to its core. We want fairness and we can’t have it. What do we do?

The Heritage Foundation is devastated to learn about the loss of our friend, conservative leader, and American patriot Charlie Kirk. Please pray that the grace of God may be with his wife and family during this incredibly difficult time.

@WorkforLife3 @hemingquay How is that a problem? That is to say, what difference would it make if they did know it, since they have no symptoms?

@hemingquay You never know. 40% of people have asymptomatic long covid and they don't even know it.

@KevinRobertsTX That's silly. Understandable, but silly. You're pandering to be a Lord of the Manor in your ridiculous christofascist feudal dystopia you're trying to create. Unmitigated hubris is destroying the GOP.

The Left lacks any aspirational vision for America. Their attacks on the Trump family are desperate distractions from a highly successful trip and one of the most important speeches in modern history—a bold reset against globalism that has long sacrificed everyday Americans. This is precisely the moment they should be embracing.

I shared this note with the Washington Post team this morning: I’m writing to let you know about a change coming to our opinion pages. We are going to be writing every day in support and defense of two pillars: personal liberties and free markets. We’ll cover other topics too of course, but viewpoints opposing those pillars will be left to be published by others. There was a time when a newspaper, especially one that was a local monopoly, might have seen it as a service to bring to the reader’s doorstep every morning a broad-based opinion section that sought to cover all views. Today, the internet does that job. I am of America and for America, and proud to be so. Our country did not get here by being typical. And a big part of America’s success has been freedom in the economic realm and everywhere else. Freedom is ethical — it minimizes coercion — and practical — it drives creativity, invention, and prosperity. I offered David Shipley, whom I greatly admire, the opportunity to lead this new chapter. I suggested to him that if the answer wasn’t “hell yes,” then it had to be “no.” After careful consideration, David decided to step away. This is a significant shift, it won’t be easy, and it will require 100% commitment — I respect his decision. We’ll be searching for a new Opinion Editor to own this new direction. I’m confident that free markets and personal liberties are right for America. I also believe these viewpoints are underserved in the current market of ideas and news opinion. I’m excited for us together to fill that void. Jeff

Philosophers say that studying philosophy makes people more rigorous, careful thinkers. But is that that true? In a large dataset (N = 122,352 students) @daft_bookworm and I find evidence that it is!🧵

Who's in charge? Thousands of DC-area federal workers were allowed to work from home during the pandemic. Now, they're 'refusing to come to the office.' A 'frustrated' White House is 'begging and badgering Cabinet secretaries to break employees' stubborn work-from-home habits.' From @axios axios.com/newsletters/ax…
