@DStrachman @ycombinator Founders are Entrepreneurs, not YC lackeys as you portray them. Partners give lots of advice. Founders are free to do what they want. If you don’t like the valuation caps (which is not the same as valuation) then bargain with the founders or don’t invest. Easy. *watch the vids*

@jmil @ycombinator 2/2. I love all the comments about partners not giving valuation advice. Then what are they there for? Every year batches come out spewing the same nonsense and further I see previous batches clinging on for dear life to economics that never made sense in the first place.

YC’s batten down the hatches email has 10 bullet points on handling the downturn. But no word apologizing for advising founders to over value their companies in what was an insane previous market. It’s not just limited cash that kills companies, it’s impossible caps to grow into.

@DStrachman @ycombinator I think their full public philosophy is critical to understand so you know what to expect from demo day. IIRC they state unequivocally that the *data shows* that on average (always there are exceptions) companies that raise less with lower valuations do *better*. Watch the vids.
