@pleasesavememan @GRIFF_TANBOMB @CllrScottArthur The van. "It" parks. "It" is working on a house. It wasn't though was it. Someone parked it there who is too lazy and selfish to walk the length of themself.

“Now that people can actually see the pavement on their street, quite often they're finding it has been utterly destroyed by cars having parked on it. So we've had a rise in complaints about footways because of this."

@Doctor_Hutch As they say in medical circles, "operation successful, patient dead"!

I remember finishing a national champs in about 2011 that ran in 7 degrees and rain. I was so cold that all the dope control guys gave me their jackets to wear -- I think I had about four of them on and was still shaking.
They insisted I stop shaking before providing a sample.

Damn, Skjelmose was shaking... 🥶 #FlecheWallonne Hope he's in front of a fireplace with winter socks now.

@fwtbr @LivingStreetsEd Yes, I fear living streets is basically an anti-cycling shill for the motor industry.
English

@LivingStreetsEd There are gains to pavement widths along almost the entire route? Its almost as if you just don’t like cycle lanes.
English

This doesn’t look like an imaginative ’20 minute neighbourhood’ for the local community; rather just an ‘active travel’ (cycling) corridor through Dalry. What happened to the idea of ‘place before movement’?
Dr Scott Arthur MP (Edinburgh South West) 🌍🌈🌹@DrScottArthurMP
Our proposals to make Dalry greener, healthier and more vibrant place to work, live and visit are being presented for consultation from today. The plans for the town centre aim to create a more attractive place, and have been designed with community input to make it easier to access local shops, schools and services with wider pavements, better cycling provision and reduced bus journey times. Ideas include features to create better spaces to spend time, with trees and nature, planting, public art, and opportunities to rest. Details: edinburgh.gov.uk/news/article/1…

@JamesMilli83298 @sos_street @DPDCare @PSOSSEEdinburgh @PSOSRoads @jomowat Then a job will be available and someone else will get it and their family won't struggle. That someone else will know not to do this.
English

@sos_street @DPDCare @PSOSSEEdinburgh @PSOSRoads @jomowat Hopefully this video gets the guy sacked, and his whole family struggle.
English

Watch this @DPDCare van travel bottom to top of a curving one way street today THE WRONG WAY in reverse gear, during pedestrian hours, then park on double yellows. Any comment, DPD? @PSOSSEEdinburgh @PSOSRoads @jomowat
English

@horsb32117 @stevenmc2 @TartanFruitcake @CllrScottArthur Then the buses will be able to get past just fine then.

Today marks 2 months since we started enforcement of the pavement parking ban in Edinburgh.
What was thought to be impossible has become normal, and we created a fairer city along the way.
Many thanks to the Council for their implementation, and to communities across Edinburgh for making it happen. I am so proud of what's been achieved by everyone.
Fine levels are higher than I would like, but I am sure they will reduce. Fines issued 29th January to 26th March 2024:
▶️ Parked on pavement = 1,045
▶️ Parked adjacent to a dropped kerb at a known crossing point = 199
▶️ Double parking = 286

@FrankHa49889063 @H_H_Gray I've worn lycra on trains many time. What is wrong with you?
English

@revenuenexus @H_H_Gray That's a choice. Trains being shit isn't weather. Government has chosen to make them shit.
English

@DM10BT @Edinburgh_CC Not sensibly if partly on the pavement. Park somewhere else.
English

We’re banning parking on pavements to make it safer and more accessible for everyone. Find out more about new parking in Edinburgh edinburgh.gov.uk/newparkingrules

@TisDeanoPVFC @adamtranter It wasn't passive. It was a pretty direct mocking of your position. Not really aggressive either. Not friendly, certainly. But not aggressive.
English

@jmitchfraser @adamtranter No it was passive aggressive mate , perhaps you didn’t realise it , that’s fair enough
English

@TisDeanoPVFC @adamtranter Ah, because dismissing another point of view as "passive aggressive" and "childish" is such an erudite gambit.
English

@jmitchfraser @adamtranter It really wasn’t , Twitter is chess pit at times , reasoned debate goes out of the window
English

@TisDeanoPVFC @adamtranter Nope, it was an accurate description of your supposed dilemma. The reality of your Iiving situation is irrelevant.
English

@jmitchfraser @adamtranter Nice passive aggressive reply
I was merely explaining the reality of the situation on the area I live in , predominantly terraced housing , as you have no idea of the build up of my local are your reply is at best childish
English

@TisDeanoPVFC @adamtranter Mind 1: pavement parking is clearly selfish and you shouldn't do it.
Mind 2: but this will mildly inconvenience me.
English

@adamtranter Really in two minds about this , where I live all terraced housing if people didn’t park on pavement ( both sides )they would simple have no where to park
English

@rob4ever4 @adamtranter So? They need to park somewhere else.
English

@adamtranter If every car in that picture parked on the road I doubt a smart car would get through lol

We urgently need your help to get Edinburgh's #RadicalRoad path back open.
🖊️ Sign the petition at ramblers.org.uk/radicalroad before 19 Dec, the deadline for @HistEnvScot's Holyrood Park consultation.
We've had 5 years of HES' broken promises & missed deadlines. It must act now.👇🏼
English

@Alltaylor1969 @Edinburgh_CC Yes, but it's not a council building. What's your actual point?
English

@jmitchfraser @Edinburgh_CC Who owns Edinburgh leisure? The council? Who is going to enforce the new pavement ban ?
English

From January parking on pavements, at dropped kerbs and double parking will be banned in Edinburgh. The new rules will make it safer for pedestrians, people with disabilities, wheelchair users and people pushing prams or buggies. Find out more edinburgh.gov.uk/newparkingrules
