@here_ride46686 @slmandel Tech did not file anything. And yes obviously i am a tech fan. You think im not going to support my team? You and everyone else would too.

@jmmrphy @slmandel The difference is I don’t believe most schools would file the injunction to begin with. Most would understand that it is a direct attack on college athletics. You are obviously a fan of your team, not of the actual sport. Pretty pathetic.

Cody Campbell and Texas Tech desperately want a seat at the big boys table. They are doing everything possible this week to get permanently banished. nytimes.com/athletic/73495…

Glad they can stay financially comfortable amid this injustice against their son. I donated $100 before it was shut down. They racists in charge are doing their best to keep this black family down. The blue wave in the fall will be the beginning of the end for Maga, and the Democrat sweep in 2028 will be a return to normalcy.

@CurtisHouck Taunted? What a disingenuous piece of journalism this is. He was asked to leave a dozen times by the kids under the tent and kept saying “F y’all I’m not leaving”. He escalated the situation. These parents are not victims and neither is their murdering son. Shameful CBS

Karmelo Anthony's mother and father on Thursday's 'CBS Mornings'... "My son didn't intend to hurt anyone. My son was defending himself." "What stuck out to me, number one, was the all-white jury, but I was trying to be, you know, like, all right, it's not that big of a deal. I mean, the truth is on our side."

@here_ride46686 @slmandel Exactly. Most schools would follow the ruling of an injunction if it allowed a player to be eligible. It's ridiculous to say they wouldn't. And also, TT hasn't even said they would play him yet. But, lets be honest they will.

@jmmrphy @slmandel And if it was, people would be going crazy on UT as well. If that was the case, then Arch would also be getting the same hate. It’s the issue, not the person.

@AndrewBrandt Not saying we wouldn't be but deep down I would know TT would do the same. Not very many intellectually honest people weighing in on this whole thing.

Honest question for Texas Tech: "Would they feel the same way if it was someone else's star quarterback?" Honest question for those criticizing Texas Tech: "Would they feel the same way if it was their team's star quarterback?" Those answers would tell a lot. #Sorsby

@jmmrphy @slmandel You have zero context for this statement. It’s never happened before. You are in uncharted territory, and the school’s handling of the issue has been horrifically bad.

Everyone wants Texas Tech to “do the right thing.” This is college sports, when has that ever been a thing? Focus on ending judicial interference rather than bash the Red Raiders for doing what almost everyone else would do (or has done). Column for @espn espn.com/college-footba…

@DanWetzel @espn Neither IOWA or IOWA ST. did what Texas Tech. has done in the same situation and that was with MULTIPLE players loosing eligibility. Noah Shannon placed 1 bet of $10 on IOWA women's basketball game and as a result, lost his final year of eligibility.

I really wanted to believe the group defending Karmelo was a limited fringe of radicals. But the show of mainstream support and utter delusion from many black politicians, celebrities & activists quickly dashed that hope. It’s one thing when we’re talking about a black person who was killed - you can at least understand sympathy for George Floyd or Michael Brown, even if the facts are disputed. But we are talking about an undisputed murderer. To defend him, one has to be so far outside of reality and the realm of moral truth that they can no longer tell up from down. It’s so extremely dangerous for people who think this way to have any say whatsoever in matters of law and justice.

Karmelo Anthony's parents are going on a media blitz claiming their son was railroaded, that he was convicted before he got a trial (they claim it was a setup/fixed/racist), that they're the victims. They never say Austin Metcalf's name. Not once. His mother claims Killmelo didn't intend to hurt him. I cut out the bits where the reporteers at CBS News Texas frame them and their insane claims in a sympathetic light. I prefer to hear the words of the nutjobs without filter or framing attempting to soften them or humanize them in some way.

While supporting Brendan’s mental health and well-being is obviously important, where is the consequence for what he did? Is one year of having Brendan really worth it? This has long-term ramifications. I bet if this was UT our fans would not be acting the same way. #GunsUp

The NCAA couldn’t stop Brendan Sorsby. A judge reinstated the Texas Tech QB despite his gambling scandal. Now the College Football Playoff might be the last group with the power to draw the line. It should immediately declare the Red Raiders ineligible for the CFP, columnist Matt Hayes writes. tinyurl.com/3cf7t4r2 📸 James Gilbert, Getty Images

The idea that Texas Tech could save the integrity of college football by choosing to not play Brendan Sorsby is hilarious. The system was broken long before this case, and Texas Tech is merely operating within that system. Any other school would be handling this case the same way.

The parents of Karmelo Anthony speak with me first following the guilty verdict and 35-year sentence. In an emotional conversation, they reflect on the trial, what they believe could have been done differently, and the impact this has had on their family. I’ll share more from the conversation tomorrow morning on @breakfastclubam

Why the fuck is it Texas Tech’s job to be the morality police on behalf of the entire CFB landscape? We are just expected to do the right thing to a massive detriment to ourselves. Yeah let me know the last time Michigan, Ohio St, Alabama or Georgia thought about CFB as a whole.
