Who’s working on this idea: Openclaw for personal finance - integrates w all your banks/cards/etc - understands tax returns and filings - monitors portfolio and competitors - digests proprietary data sources (credit card panels, app rankings, and etc) - reads company news and X Etc etc

I still think having a tappable element to dismiss safely is worth it (especially on web), but agree to disagree here, I’m genuinely not trying to be a dick 😄 I just don’t think calling a pattern “old” is evidence that it needs replacing, or that something newer is automatically better.

Alright, I’ll assume good faith here and that you’re open to new ideas. You are watching a video of an exemplary interaction. In the real world, in daily life, users aren’t evaluating and looking to nerdsnipe, they’re just tapping and scrolling without a lot of thinking. The cognitive friction of “oh maybe I’ll tap something else”? → put a scrim over everything if you’re worried about it. It’s just not a real concern tho. “How do I know?” → because you have used apps and operating systems before. This is literally just a context menu; which has been around for DECADES. No one has ever got stuck when they right clicked or opened one of those. We should be trying to push and advance the date of design and user experience, not hold on to outdated thinking or mental models.

On mobile maybe, you didn’t specify the device. There’s a tiny bit of cognitive friction that my tap elsewhere might trigger another action, or is everything disabled? How do I know, is there an overlay? My point is it’s more nuanced than you make it and saying “it’s so 2005” is not useful

@jmsuth Brother there is not a soul on earth who would not, upon tapping to open a popover, tap anywhere else to close it. Plenty of other reasons to just prefer 2, but affordances ain’t one of them.

Hit Christmas gift this year: Stickerbox. Press button, describe something, AI generates an image and prints on a sticker. Great product design. We’ve printed hundreds of stickers so far. Made by one of my YC Summer 2009 batchmates!

I’m so curious how Cursor’s design team manages color vars / tokens with all of the theming possibilities in the IDE. @ryolu_

@hexmint @shadcn Solid red for the destructive hover color when menu accent == bold would probably make more sense

@shadcn Is this light red on bold menu accent by design or a bug?

Getting a few questions about the menu options. This is specifically for building inverted menus in light mode. Works for dropdown menu, select, combobox, context menu, menubar...etc

I migrated cursor.com from a CMS to raw code and Markdown. I had estimated it would take a few weeks, but was able to finish the migration in three days with $260 in tokens and hundreds of agents. Here's how I did it + all my my usage stats. leerob.com/agents
