As the MLA of Mayiladuthurai, I stand here carrying a proud legacy of service to the nation that spans generations. My grandfather, M. Haji Jamal Mohamed Sahib, was one of the distinguished pillars of India’s freedom movement — a nationalist leader who worked alongside Mahatma Gandhi, Motilal Nehru and Quaid-e-Millath. He attended the Second Round Table Conference in London and fought for the cause of India. Deeply committed to the idea that education is the foundation of national progress, he made remarkable contributions to institutions such as Jamia Millia Islamia, Aligarh Muslim University, and Jamal Mohamed College, in Trichy, proudly bears his name. As his grandson, I consider it my duty and privilege to uphold this legacy through sincere service to the people and to the country. I am profoundly grateful to our leader, Rahul Gandhi, for his vision in empowering young leaders and for entrusting me with the responsibility of serving and developing the Mayiladuthurai constituency as its representative youth.
