@maximumwelfare I often say, it’s frustrating because compared to previous admins they are competent. But they are also aggressively committed to not attempting to fix, nor improve, even slightly, any single issue. Conservative media completely leads the agenda, and they like it like that.

The Prequels weren't hated until a combination of pretentious Youtube wannabe critics, people who enjoy that kind of slop review without critical thought, and Reddit all combined to lower IQs and create a generation of people too dumb to actually understand or criticize media properly.
The Prequel Trilogy was always good. Any opinion stating they're bad films is purely contrarian Reddit.

the show is iffy ab progressive politics overall -- think about cutler sneering at ginsberg for being anti-war when he works at an ad agency. if anything, there's a consistent "no ethical consumption under capitalism" read. I'd say the only person the show really hates is harry.

The sequel trilogy is so illustrative of boomer radicalism. It desperately wants to continue being the underdog rebelling against the oppressors that they more or less just ignore that they won in the previous movie and larp on.
If the prequel trilogy was about democracy collapsing, and the OT about rebelling against the Empire, what should the final third be about? How to handle power responsibly, of course. But that would require growing up.
