15 miles this morning as I taper for the London Marathon. I’m really hoping to match what my son Hector raised of £3638 for @hospicestclare when he did his Lockdown Challenge! My link is: justgiving.com/fundraising/cl… Any donations gratefully received 🙏🏻 Thank you so much 🏃🏼♀️💙 xxx
This makes me sick to the stomach. But we STILL get ppl defending/promoting/backing OFSTED to the hilt! Personally, it’s things like this that remind me again that complete abolition and demolition has to be the end goal - ‘Headteacher took own life as Ofsted were going to downgrade her school’ dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1… via @MailOnline
So please, I’m begging you to tell your school to take the OFSTED banner down, regardless how ‘good’ the grade was. Stop paying the bus companies to put it on busses or the newspaper to do a spread. OFSTED want schools to do that - it endorses this approach.
If you are living and breathing today, this is an example of your resilience. All you need to do is recognize it and let it become your core strength. With bagpipe music from my cabin in the wilderness of the Yukon, I'm dispatching joy, hope, healing and positivity.
Mathematics.
Shiver in ecstasy. In Pascal's Triangle, all numbers in the p-th row (except for the 1s) are divisible by p, if and only if p is prime. qr.ae/prP9yb
Dear Simon Pegg, Maths is a hugely creative subject that underpins many creative industries: architecture, animation, special effects, music. To equate mathematicians with a drone army of date entering robots shows why a maths for artists 16-18 course would be a great idea.
Let’s be honest: Brexit isn’t working.
British exporters are struggling, our living standards are falling and the UK is now the only G7 country with a smaller economy than before the pandemic.
Unless we face up to the harm Brexit is causing we can't start to address it.

@Mr_AlmondED Early levels of @numbots is great for this. Love the way the representations build understanding. Fluency needs to be achieved before moving on. Great motivation with on screen rewards. We do five minutes a day at home.
I know of one programme that actually teaches these facts in a systematic way. All other curriculum products basically ignore the facts and the corresponding strategies for number facts WITHIN 10. Interested to know what you do about teaching these in ks1.
