Attention attendees of the Principles First Summit: We have received a credible bomb threat from Enrique Tarrio, the recently pardoned leader of the Proud Boys who was sentenced to 22 years in prison for seditious conspiracy and the attack of January 6th. Hotel security, private security, and MPD have made the decision to evacuate Summit floor so that the area can be secured. We intend to reconvene and continue with the Summit once the area has been secured. Thank you to the police officers and security teams keeping us safe at this time. The safety of our attendees and speakers is our top priority. We will provide updates as we’re able.

A statement from Secretary Al Schmidt:

Throughout the day, the Department has communicated with counties who continue to conduct a secure election where every eligible vote is counted.

We estimate there are at least 100,000 ballots remaining to be adjudicated, including provisional, military, overseas, and Election Day votes. We urge patience as election workers continue to do this important work, especially in contests where the margins are very close.
