the window for experimenting with llms has basically closed now. the megacorps have fully hit escape velocity and are shipping new products and new features daily. the shift is that they’re not just shipping llms anymore, they’re using llms to build products and improve existing ones at scale. the wild west era of llms isn’t really the wild west anymore. a year ago, this could’ve been an indie dev side project, maybe even a monetizable product. it was literally so easy that the only real bottleneck was your free time. now, whatever idea you have, you should basically assume google/anthropic/oai will build some version of it within a week and wipe out most of the startup surface area around it

ok actually insane paper published yesterday a research group in Korea built a gene switch you can control wirelessly using electromagnetic fields they exposed mice to 60 hz EMF (same frequency as your wall outlet) using a pair of large coils that generate a uniform magnetic field around the animal, for cyclic 3-day on / 4-day off pulses they showed this could: - activate OSK to do epigenetic reprogramming in progeroid and aged mice, extending lifespan and reversing aging markers across multiple tissues - conditionally switch on mutant amyloid genes only in aged mouse brains, letting them separate aging effects from amyloid effects to study AD biology in a way previous models couldn't no drugs, no impacts, just a magnetic field from outside the body

This is one of the most important weeks of your life It is more than likely both Opus 4.7 and ChatGPT 5.5 will release in the next few days Both will be humanity shifting technologies When massive shifts drop like this you need to do EVERYTHING in your power to be using them the moment they come out You need to be calling in sick from work You need to be asking your significant others to watch the kids You need to be faking your death so your friends don't call you You do what it takes to get your hands on these pieces of technology When we have nuclear shifts in the landscape, massive opportunities arise. This will be one of those times There's going to be a short time period after the release of these models where it will be easier and faster than ever to build revolutionary products, and not many people will be doing it If you jump on these opportunities, you can build life changing wealth. These are the times where people put on the AI sorting hat and that hat says either "permanent underclass" or "permanent overclass" Take these actions now: • Download Claude Code Desktop • Download Codex app • Get your OpenClaw ready for the update • Learn these tools inside and out • Moment the new models drop plug them in and use them Your entire lineage is depending on this

one of the best sales advice we picked up during YC is the "McKinsey Model" a lot of deals at early-stage startups die for the same reason: your champion is afraid to advocate for your product if they push for it internally and it doesn't work out, their job is on the line so they never come back to you and hit you with the "we need to align internally first" that's why you need to be their McKinsey consultant: instead of them pitching, you personally take the blame after every demo, send them: - a one-pager - a security doc - an ROI calculator with their numbers - useful context/overview of your industry that can help with what they're struggling with right now - a pre-written slack message they can forward make it as easy as possible for your champion to forward your material without them feeling responsible for integrating your solution or "fighting" for it

@GuoxinChen22 @omarsar0 thats very interesting indeed, I also used the file-as-bus design by trial and error but not the orchestrator yet. If the orchestrator decides which explore next with another llm model, it will systematically choose some trend directions (trendslop) so i guess it could be tested

Long-horizon AI research agents are mostly a state-management problem. It is not enough for an agent to reason well in the next turn. ML research requires task setup, implementation, experiments, debugging, and evidence tracking over hours or days. This new paper introduces AiScientist, a system for autonomous long-horizon engineering for ML research. The key idea is to keep control thin and state thick. A top-level orchestrator manages stage-level progress, while specialized agents repeatedly ground themselves in durable workspace artifacts: analyses, plans, code, logs, and experimental evidence. That "File-as-Bus" design matters. AiScientist improves PaperBench by 10.54 points over the best matched baseline and reaches 81.82 Any Medal% on MLE-Bench Lite. Removing File-as-Bus drops PaperBench by 6.41 points and MLE-Bench Lite by 31.82 points. Why does it matter? Autonomous research agents need durable project memory, not just longer chats. Obsidian accidentally built the perfect AI operating system and most people still don't see it... i couldn't stand this app for years... too much manual work for a note taking tool, plugins everywhere, hours of weekly maintenance just to keep it useful but everything that made it annoying for humans makes it perfect for agents: > plain markdown files on your local disk > no cloud API, no auth tokens, no rate limits > folder hierarchy that works as memory architecture > wikilinks and tags that create context graphs automatically your agent reads it, writes to it, organizes it... all without opening the app the people who built their Obsidian vaults "the hard way" are now sitting on a goldmine... and everyone else can have an agent build one from scratch in an afternoon
