Banganphalli lovers - this mango is called "Safeda" in the North. Trust me - no one in the North cares two cents for Safedas. Dussehris, Langdas, Chosas - that's where it's at. Revise your choices appropriately (coincidentally, Mallika is a Dussehri hybrid)

@jsensarma North Safeda and Andhra/Telangana Banganapalli taste different though not entirely. But you’re right, those are just high yield, early harvest mangoes that most people like without experiencing the better varieties.

At Mercure Bana Hills, Accor status actually felt useful. While everyone else was checking in and out at the regular counters, they took us to a dedicated Accor members cabin, made us sit comfortably, and finished the formalities there. Tiny thing, but after travel, these things matter a lot. This is why I keep saying hotel loyalty programs are not just about breakfast or upgrades. Sometimes it is simply about making the whole experience smoother.

A pattern I've noticed: I work with a small number of people, who I help plan and implement the right credit card strategy for them (not a service I offer publicly) and lot of them came in holding 8-10 credit cards yet earning fewer rewards than people who master 2-3 cards. You're spending mental energy tracking categories, bonus periods, and annual milestones across too many cards. Meanwhile, the guy with 3 cards knows exactly which card to pull out for every transaction. No thinking. No missed bonuses. No spreadsheets. He hits spend thresholds faster. Maximizes category bonuses. Actually remembers to use his benefits. More cards doesn't mean more points. It means more confusion. The goal isn't to collect cards. It's to collect experiences. Pick 2-3 cards that cover your spending. Learn them inside out. Then stop looking for the next "perfect" card. Your wallet isn't a Pokemon collection.

The most useless, least-used credit card perk for me has been the meet-and-greet. I’ve used it maybe twice since it was introduced. You can’t give these away for someone else to use it, I suppose?

Got charged Forex + GST on a Forex refund on my Axis Magnus Burgundy Credit Card. 🤡 So apparently: You pay Forex when you spend internationally ✈️ And you ALSO pay Forex when that same transaction is reversed. 🔁 Wow 👏👏 If you’re not checking statements line by line, this will quietly bleed money. I have a habit to audit every statement and this is exactly why. Raised it with Axis Credit Card team and waiting for a response. Non-Controversial Opinion: Loyalty is for friends and family. Not for airlines, hotels or banks. Go where you’re treated the best, go where you get the most bang for your buck. The businesses don’t give a hoot about you without the $$$ flowing. Why should you?
