As a Boro fan, promotion would be unreal, but then we enter a League that is full of Corruption, VAR, top 6 bias, money run rubbish. Is it all that? Bournemouth, Brighton, Brentford, Fulham & Palace isn't exactly exciting stuff for a northern team. Plus we prob win 10 games max

@aj_mads @BoroMundo Over a period of what, 30 years? My point is they could spend that again this summer (if promoted) and still come nowhere close to surviving. Appreciate they've had one season in the PL in 15 years, but the Alfonso Alves money would barely pay for a backup full back these days

@bengreggles @airz1879 @TheDB30 Blyth Spartans don't pull huge numbers either (appreciate a smaller town). Don't claim to have the answers to fix it, but as ticket prices keep increasing at NUFC/SAFC, perhaps it'll help the non league scene grow longer term

@joeboss87 @airz1879 @TheDB30 Gateshead's ground is absolutely shite which I think has an impact, got to be one of the worst match going experiences in the country. Shame because I think there's definitely a niche for them up here

Durham. Given the size of the place you’d expect them to have a team at least on par with the likes of Gateshead and Darlington

@airz1879 @TheDB30 Agreed. Lived in NE 20 years, after same in East Mids/South Yorkshire. Gateshead's population is double that of Chesterfield, but ~1000 through turnstiles vs 8000. There are Derby, United, Wednesday etc. fans in Chesterfield too. Suppose Town have a much longer league history.
