Ontario has a responsibility to keep these workers safe. @DavidPiccini, please ensure this assaulted worker finds justice and the hazards at Central North & other provincial Correctional Centres are addressed. The workers can identify the dangers and offer constructive remedies.

While many were out enjoying the long weekend, one of our officers was violently assaulted by an inmate struggling with mental health issues. This "justice" system continues to criminalize mental illness instead of treating it. Be better Ontario. @ONsafety #CorrectionsStrong

🚨Doug Ford is running a notorious Anti-Same Sex marriage knob in Oshawa: Jerry Oulette has been a fixture at anti-gay rights protests for years, famously saying "I believe the definition of marriage in Canada should remain as a "union of one man and one woman, to the exclusion of all others." There is nothing “reasonable” about the contemplation of using the notwithstanding clause in regards to helping the unhoused. Rather than pander to the ask from Ford to “ask me for it”, let’s collectively demand that the prov properly fund ODSP, mental health care, housing etc

Give me a break. How about the mom that wants to take her kid to the playground, but can’t? Or the walking trail that is now fully blocked? Or the downtown businesses in our cores that are being decimated by encampments? Where are their rights? There has to be reasonableness to this to this issue. If we have sanctioned areas and yet they just refuse to use those areas, or refuse shelters or units, the pendulum is swung too far.
