@kyotocosmology My crude personality just reflects on the number of times I've heard people discuss the "triple A'ness" of a project. Yes, when I play the latest games I can really feel the triple A'ness. Sometimes you can taste it.

Game resumes become 10x funnier if you take every mention of 'AAA' as a little involuntary scream. I have a background in [screams] game development. Over my career I've shipped seven [screams] titles. I'm familiar with the [screams] asset pipeline etc

Okay so this is wild. I just got a call and voicemail from an attorney who is calling to complain about content in a video game that “his son and his friends are playing” (Conan Exiles) - Weird. 1/

@Celicynd Sure the starting bases are also closer to the open desert - that’s also the reason. Later you get into locations with shielded enemies which are more worm-safe.

@Celicynd Does the game need to explain something that is already in the books? You could always use shields on Arrakis, it's just a bad idea in the wrong places.

Wanted to give a shoutout to @NMBRSSTUDIO who we worked with on the Dune: Awakening story trailer. Just a bunch of absolute pros who were able to help us get this made with all kinds of time and approval deadlines. Grateful for their partnership.

@damiengwalter More than happy to discuss my reasoning behind the timeline of Dune: Awakening at any point. Even if it just becomes a discussion about the difference between creating possibility spaces in video games compared to more traditional storytelling norms in books/films.

Looking forward to Hamlet without Hamlet and Madame Bovary without Emma Bovary

@MaeganStrong19 Oh Feyd is actually a real charmer, I think. The Harkonnen are portrayed in such a black and white manner (heh) in the movies, but I see them as more nuanced.

@joelbylos I ship nobody with Feyd... but that's just me.

Well the trailer reactions are as expected, I think. People confused, chaos in the streets, some people think it is a spin-off film. Sadly, not enough people shipping Ariste Atreides and Feyd, but we'll get there.

The last thing I'm going to say about this Dune Game: The message of Dune is that you don't need heroes, or saviors, or messiahs. So, really, you should be fine playing a game set in the Dune universe that doesn't include Paul. It will have literally every other aspect.

@kuychi_i I feel like if the UI isn't turned on, people don't think it is gameplay. GDC trailer had plenty of gameplay in it from the actual game, but without UI people think everything is fake. We will definitely show more soon.

@VisitArrakis An attempt was made to reconcile two great houses. Overseen by Bene Gesserit. A bitter rivalry to be laid to rest, at long last. But Atreides loyalty is bought with love, while the Harkonnen coin is hate.
