@Elizabeth_TX1 Oh, I thought my own political leanings were clear by now. I guess I should stop being so shy about them! 🤣 Yeah, I agree that it's poor planning on their part.

@joereform I’m not a libertarian, so your views were not obvious to me. Basically what happens is the street feeders line up all down next to the sidewalk. The homeless crowd gets so big they end up in the middle of the street. Street takeover - then no cars or pedestrians can use it.

Typically during the week there is only a dozen. That’s been changing and not for the better ~75-100. I had to depart the area quickly, was getting yelled at. Almost like they don’t realize they are in public space. Turf wars.

@Elizabeth_TX1 Obviously, as a Libertarian, a lack of permits doesn't bother me, and I think that private entities can help the homeless more effectively than the government ever will. I was curious in general why whoever was handing out food thought that the middle of the street was best.

@BaronHarkonnen0 @misfitpatriot_ It's not his fault that morons on both sides of the aisle and whoever happens to be in the White House get off on piling trillions upon trillions of dollars to our national debt. He's only one man.

The reason Massie is always voting with Democrats is because he’s not a conservative or a republican, he’s a libertarian, and that party is currently way more aligned with the left than the right. The libertarian party nominated Chase Oliver in 2024, an openly gay man who supports drag queen story hour and men in women’s sports. There’s a reason libertarians get less than 1% of the vote when they run in their own party, and that’s because they’re radicals who want to fundamentally change America to a lawless utopia where everyone can just do whatever they want, just like the left. That’s quite literally the opposite of a conservatives, who want to preserve America as a nation of freedom, but also a nation of laws. In other words, a constitutional REPUBLIC. Massie only ran as a Republican because he knew he would never win if he didn’t. Then, he voted like a libertarian, and passed only one bill in 13 years. He takes money from the same people who donate to the squad, and just like everyone else on the far left, he hates Israel because they stand in the way of the new red green alliance. He’s an accelerationist who wants to burn it all down and teaming up with the far left and Islamists is the best way to do that. If we want to Make America Great Again, we need to stop electing RINO’s who don’t share our values, and build a coalition where our representatives are all on the same page. Politics is a team sport, and Massie isn’t on our team.

@HannahDCox @RealNorthEndGuy You realize that Glee was a work of fiction, right? And there is no shortage of boys in the arts, both inside school and outside of it. It just looks more like participating in a band (rock or marching, take your pick) than it does something that has been feminized in the U.S.

@RealNorthEndGuy Was just chatting offline with a friend about this very thing. Glee did a great job of portraying masc men having the confidence to participate in the arts and how that can open the door for other men who are more likely to be bullied. The theater needs the jocks to come on over

Firmly believe putting more boys in choir and drama would fix what’s going on with them. Get your sons in the arts.

Soldiers do not have "agency." Once they enlist, they don't get to decide when, where, or how they are going to be asked to put their lives at risk. They don't have the liberty to say, "No, this isn't worth all of the American blood that will be shed, nor all of the psychological damage that we who survive will bear for the rest of our lives." At the end of the day, they are just pawns in the hands of politicians with no skin in the game, themselves.

As an Iranian, I honestly don’t understand some American’s obsession with “no boots on the ground.” I’m asking this sincerely, can someone please explain it to me? From my perspective, I would genuinely feel offended and angry if I were an American soldier or commander. They are not children. They have agency. They know exactly what they’re doing. This kind of rhetoric deeply undermines the courage, sacrifice, and greatness of American soldiers. I understand that some people say this out of genuine concern for the troops. But to me, it reveals a scared, broken, and traumatized mindset, one that is afraid to face the real world and its dangers, and that comforts itself by denying reality. In the actual world outside, dangers and threats are real. The bravest and greatest people consciously choose to go out and protect their values. I hope these people heal from the traumas of the past, and believe in the capability and strength of American soldiers, and to truly honor their sacrifices instead of constantly undermining them with fearful slogans. #ThankYouTrump#IranWar

This scene is so surreal. A little Iranian girl is swinging، while in the background, IRGC military facilities are burning in the flames of a war they called for, for 47 years. Iranians are waiting for troops to enter and liberate them. #Iran

People labeling liberalization of Iran as an “illegal war” do not sound as though they are terribly upset by the concept of “war” itself. They sound upset by who is in the White House. Notably, had this been carried out by anyone else—one with a tan suit and a press corps prepared to call his explosions “measured” and “historic”—many of these same people would be writing essays about moral courage and the burden of statesmanship. But because it is President Trump, every missile becomes a constitutional crisis and every strike is recited in the tone of a Victorian fainting spell. And because it is Iran, one must apparently pretend the regime is a fragile, misunderstood little thing that simply wanted to enrich uranium, shoot children in the eye, gouge women’s wombs out, sponsor militias, and threaten the region in peace. Honestly, the hypocrisy is nauseating.
Christiane Amanpour@amanpour

President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu are “outright lying,” and “selling a fantasy to Iranian people who are rightfully desperate for regime change,” says Iranian-American Democratic Congresswoman @yassaminansari, who calls the Iran operation an “illegal war.”

@joereform Because no one is stopping them. Would you want this staged in a park in your neighborhood? It shouldn’t be allowed, at all. They are coming out of shelters for this. Collaborate w/ homeless solution providers in Dallas.

@Elizabeth_TX1 Why are they doing it in the middle of the street? Seems like a nearby park would be a more logical staging area.

@joereform An illegal street takeover by street feeders and the homeless. Two blocks from City Hall. Unorganized so I doubt anyone has permits, not that anyone is even checking.

@DeTahmineh It is entirely consistent to believe that the Islamic Republic is a wicked, repressive regime; and at the same time understand that Trump objectively is waging an illegal war against Iran. It's not "emotional paperwork." It's Constitutional reality.

One does begin to suspect that for some people, the Islamic Republic could literally ride into the room on a broomstick setting Americans on fire on American soil and they would still clear their throats and ask whether the real issue is the tone of President Trump’s remarks. Now, of course, these critics insist they are not defending the regime. Heavens, no. They are merely “asking questions.” Is it legal? Is Congress consulted? Is this wise? What precedent does this set? Could this lead to a wider war? And while these questions may sound very dignified when spoken slowly on television, one notices that they are almost never accompanied by any equivalent outrage toward the regime that made war, terror, hostage-taking, assassination plots, and domestic repression its governing philosophy. Curious, that. Apparently, according to the Illegal War Society for Extremely Concerned Persons, the truly unforgivable offense in the modern world is not building a theological police state and brutalizing millions of people for decades. No, no. The true outrage is President Trump failing to file the proper emotional paperwork before hitting back.

@EmbracingTara Sounds like someone is speaking authoritatively from a position of never having been a man... Men are "out there" in the world, solving all of those problems you describe. We want our relationships and families to be our place of peace/respite from all of that. No drama, thanks.

Men typically don't thrive with unconditional love. It reminds them of their mother's love or lack thereof, and most have serious mommy issues. Masculine men tend to feel really suffocated by "unconditional love". Even if they have a healthy relationship with their mothers - Men thrive in problem-solving environments with clear objectives and goals. They are like service dogs. They need to be working and in service to a satisfying, practical, tangible goal at most times, and derive pleasure from completing it well and the praise that follows. They constantly need to be doing jobs and tasks to earn your praise, not unlike service animals. Your authentic praise of a job well done, an objective met, or a mission or goal completed is how they receive love. Men typically operate on a merit-based system, so "unconditional" love from anyone other than their mom feels very weird and undeserved, which makes them feel like it's inauthentic or actually makes them complacent.
