Q: How does Netflix A/B test with great design? No one can deny that Netflix has changed the way we watch movies and TV shows. It's one of the most experimental products of ALL time. @netflix takes a scientific and intense approach to product design, using experimentation and A/B testing → leading to addictive designs and improved customer satisfaction. → Instead of relying on conventional wisdom or what people tell them is the truth, Netflix values collecting behavioral data and drawing their own conclusions to understand customer behavior and satisfaction. → A/B testing is the only way to truly run an experiment in product design, allowing for a high level of confidence in improving the customer's experience. → A winner is determined based on metrics like customer satisfaction, and the winning version becomes the new default experience for everyone, guiding future tests and iterations of the Netflix product. → Data trends alone don't provide hypotheses for improving customer experience; A/B testing is crucial for validating hypotheses and generating meaningful insights. → Conducting A/B tests is the most unbiased way to observe user behavior and can reveal discrepancies between what users say and how they actually use a product. Follow @felixleezd for more on design!

Step (5) believe back in positive. I used to be a winner, I was defeated, slain, slaughtered. I fed myself with that belief. It’s now time to acknowledge my own greatness.

It’s time. I’ve wrecked my mind and body over the last two years. It’s been a voyage into the edge and onto the end line. Now I have to change, I have to be able to focus to get me through the next two years of complicated financial juggling. A thread 🧵

More & more top creators are buying shares of ConvertKit in this secondary round. Team members who built the company are selling shares to fund big life milestones (house purchase, etc). Creators who built empires powered by ConvertKit are using some of their profits to buy in

@ShaanVP @thesamparr Start with the end in mind. Curious if you know of a site that lists all orgs that _might_ acquire within an industry? e.g. a list of orgs that acquire within health, finance, content etc. Might be a good way to orient, by knowing how you could exit

@mattragland Love this! You can then obviously increase the price quite naturally if the cohorts keep selling out, feels a bit harder to “sell” a price increase on an evergreen product but no experience in that yet

@joewattsdesign I like to start with (small?) cohorts because of the feedback loop you can develop with real-time teaching. That allows you to create a much better self-guided version of the course.

Course/Product Launch Trend 📈 We're building waitlists for (almost) every course launch we run. Create a simple landing page + resource that aligns with the course. Drive traffic via social teases and share special bonus content and previews with the group before launching. Here are 2 other examples: @jayclouse keeps a waitlist for the Creator Lab by capping members at 200. He even has a tiered waitlist strategy: people who are on the Basic plan get first dibs, followed by the general waitlist. Not only does this motivate new members to sign up quickly, it introduces significant churn friction to current members. If you cancel, may not be able to join again for a while! Amanda's Office Hours @AmandaMGoetz just launched her Office Hours membership and limited it to 50 people. This helps her give early members a great experience, increasing word-of-mouth referrals and FOMO for non-members (in a good way). Recap 1. Start a waitlist with a dedicated landing page and resource that aligns with the promise of the course. 2. Communicate often with the wait list about content that's coming, previews, and early access. 3. Consider limiting access to an early group of customers - it will increase FOMO and give you the opportunity to deliver a great experience to members. If you like this post - share/comment so other can see it. Next, follow me, @mattragland, for more posts on creator revenue, newsletters, and the occasional viral Dad post. Thanks for reading and happy launching!

Looking for @framer help. How do I add a @Meta Pixel to track events on my website? Getting mixed messages from @meta Business Suite, is it active or not? Says Active on one page, but not another. It says to add the Pixel at the end of the Header. Is that same as Head in @framer?

@mattragland @ConvertKit @thinkific Haha noted ;) Curious... are you concerned by giving a discount via a link that someone can just blast that link everywhere? Obvs the monthly expiry will curtail that somewhat. New to this, so going to the master 🙏 also really enjoying the digital dads slack group 👊

Liquid Countdown Code 💧📧 I love using this for evergreen email sequences in @ConvertKit TL;DR → use this code to "countdown" remaining days in an evergreen promo. Like if a new subscriber signs up and you want to give a 5 day discount window on your product. {{ 'now' | date: "%s" | plus: 432000 | date: "%A, %B %d" }} In this code, 432000 is the number of seconds in 5 days. So if you want to change it in the next email to 4 days, use the same code but with 345600 (and so on). Huge caveat — this does not change the coupon expiration or make it unique to each subscriber. You would need to use an expiring coupon tool - but imo unless you're doing $10k+ a month in sales I don't think it's worth it. Personally I just change the coupon code each month and update the snippet in ConvertKit. This code is just a fun little way to introduce some urgency to your evergreen sequences. Let me know if you introduce it to your own!

@mattragland @adamsilverhq @ConvertKit @thinkific 100% LOVE the iteration... just making sure I didn't miss something obvious and thank you for clarifying. I did think of switching from 24 hours to the end of the month, with a broadcast to all recent completions to nudge them again 1 day before the end etc

@adamsilverhq @joewattsdesign @ConvertKit @thinkific Agree, as I said in the initial post this isn't a perfect solution, especially for the actual coupon setup. But it's something I always test before moving to an automated coupon expiring tool like Deadline Funnel.

@mattragland @ConvertKit @thinkific The part I'm missing in your example is you give them 5 days to receive the discount, but you manually change the expiring code. What if someone subscribes on the 28th of the month? They get 5 days, would their code not expire if you change it at the start of the month?

Truly humbling. I try so hard to create intuitive experiences. Can be so stressful at times. Fortunately I just tried to set up my first set of @facebook ads… the only word I can use is “agonising”. If a multi billion $ company can be that bad, then I can probs chill a bit
