Q: How does Netflix A/B test with great design? No one can deny that Netflix has changed the way we watch movies and TV shows. It's one of the most experimental products of ALL time. @netflix takes a scientific and intense approach to product design, using experimentation and A/B testing → leading to addictive designs and improved customer satisfaction. → Instead of relying on conventional wisdom or what people tell them is the truth, Netflix values collecting behavioral data and drawing their own conclusions to understand customer behavior and satisfaction. → A/B testing is the only way to truly run an experiment in product design, allowing for a high level of confidence in improving the customer's experience. → A winner is determined based on metrics like customer satisfaction, and the winning version becomes the new default experience for everyone, guiding future tests and iterations of the Netflix product. → Data trends alone don't provide hypotheses for improving customer experience; A/B testing is crucial for validating hypotheses and generating meaningful insights. → Conducting A/B tests is the most unbiased way to observe user behavior and can reveal discrepancies between what users say and how they actually use a product.
