A surprising key to a thriving startup scene is a venue big enough, relaxed enough, and *cool* enough (NOT a co-working space) to host meetups. Some cities are just so easy get lots of people together due to weather & big venues: San Francisco, Austin, & Miami. Meanwhile NYC & London are hard for big groups and the weather makes outdoor events tough.

@andrewglynch I wish the same was true for private chefs.

I suggested more people should buy back their time by hiring a cleaner and was accused of being exploitative, out of touch, and other things It was a fun day!

@CSURAM88 I only have 4 bikes right now. ones in my hallway at art, one i ride, two at my ranch. I've owned many others but have always had to sell one to buy another as i've never had space. Also have vintage motorcycle leather jackets and denim just in a closet.

This is a cutaway engine. This one's from an old Triumph motorcycle. They're used to teach mechanics how engines work. I collect vintage motorcycles, memorabilia, and related stuff. I've always wanted to get my hands on an old cutaway engine. But they're tough to find!

If the succession process should start when a kid is a teenager then for many family-run business in Poland it’s already too late. Only 10% of the businesses in 🇵🇱 have any form of succession planning in place. The statistics are brutal and the majority of firms won’t succeed in passing the baton down to the next generation. What could be a solution to preserve the hard earned family wealth? A sale. (It may sound ironic I know!) The concept of family foundation (recently introduced by the Polish government) could be a catalyst of such sales as families can then reinvest the sales proceeds into other ventures in a tax efficient manner (diversifying and protecting their wealth). The key is to partner with the most suitable investor and then an experienced investment advisor who will guide the family through the next investing chapter.
