The Giants finally had something going, but Drew Gilbert's deep fly ball was caught at the track and Willy Adames was doubled off second. It ends up being seven shutout innings for Shohei Ohtani, who struck out eight.

My wife and I went out to dinner last night, and the bill came out to $125. I left a $20 tip on the table, thinking that was pretty reasonable. But the waiter looked at it and flat-out refused to take it. He told us that if we weren’t willing to leave at least $50, we shouldn’t be eating out in the first place. I was honestly caught off guard. I felt embarrassed sitting there, like we’d done something wrong. We weren’t trying to be cheap or disrespectful — I genuinely thought $20 was a fair tip for that bill. Now I keep replaying the whole thing in my head, wondering if I misjudged it and questioning whether $20 really wasn’t enough.

Buster Posey doesn’t hesitate to make big moves, and this is a stunner. The Giants move on from a catcher who once looked like a foundational piece. They’ll go with Daniel Susac and Jesus Rodriguez behind the plate.

@KNBR @JackLoder_ I suggest Adames stop with the Gatorade until there’s actually something to celebrate. A win here & there doesn’t count. Maybe if he got a little more serious, he would do better and the rest of the team would do better. Some Gatorade once in a while doesn’t improve team spirit.

@KNBR @knbrmurph It’s been widely reported that Devers refuses to change his batting stance. If he won’t take any advice from the hitting coaches to improve what has been a pathetic effort this season, then he doesn’t deserve to be in the lineup at all. I don’t care how much they’re paying him.
