It was a great delight for me to flag off the construction of the Ado Ekiti New Town Housing Project, which will provide 1,000 affordable housing units for our people. This initiative, in partnership with a private sector investor, exemplifies our commitment to driving growth and development in Ekiti State through innovative collaboration. Our vision is clear: to provide safe, affordable, and modern housing solutions that cater to all categories of residents. We are embracing this public-private partnership model to ensure that every Ekiti resident—from civil servants and artisans to market women and our diaspora—has the opportunity to own a home through flexible and inclusive financing. We are not just building homes; we are creating opportunities for prosperity, job creation, and a modern, well-planned community. I am particularly proud that this project preserves the cultural heritage of Ado while developing a new city that meets the needs of our people. Our aim is to deliver 100 units within the next year. I encourage all civil servants, artisans, market women, and Ekiti people at home and abroad to invest in this new town. This is an opportunity for everyone, regardless of income level, to own property and be part of a thriving, structured community. To Citec International Estates Limited and its Managing Director, Dr. Oludare Bello, I extend my gratitude for your trust and investment in our state. To all Ekiti residents, this is a call to action—let’s invest in our future and build the Ekiti of our dreams!

Today, I joined the good people of Ekiti State in a special thanksgiving service to mark our second anniversary in office. It was a time to acknowledge God’s grace, which has enabled us to record remarkable progress in our quest for shared prosperity for our people. I am grateful for the presence and support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was represented by the Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele. I deeply appreciate the President’s support, which has enabled us to make significant strides in our state. I also feel honoured to have been joined by my predecessors, former Governors Niyi Adebayo, Ayodele Fayose, and Dr. Kayode Fayemi. Their presence symbolises the unity and peace we have diligently worked to foster in Ekiti, and I thank them for their valuable counsel and support. I remain dedicated to the development and prosperity of Ekiti, and I am thankful for the prayers and blessings of the religious leaders present. Together, we will continue to build a state where every community thrives, and where our shared vision of progress and unity becomes a reality.

On Sunday, I had the honour of attending two significant events in Ado Ekiti. The day commenced with the commissioning of the 3rd Extension Road, located behind NTA, by former Governor Dr. John Kayode Fayemi.

Today is a significant day for our administration as we continued with the celebration of our second anniversary. I am deeply honoured to have some of our former Governors—Segun Oni, Ayodele Fayose, and Niyi Adebayo—join me in commissioning various projects across Ekiti State. Their presence and support demonstrate the unity and collaboration we have achieved for the progress of our beloved state. We commissioned the newly constructed Local Government Service Commission office complex, the remodelled Otunba Niyi Adebayo Presidential Lodge, and the Dehead/Faglo road and electrification project. These projects are not just symbols of development but of the collective efforts of past and present leaders working together for Ekiti’s prosperity. I am committed to enhancing a spirit of togetherness and unity, as it is only through collaboration, beyond political affiliations, that we can achieve our shared goals. It is important to celebrate our leaders while they are alive, and I am delighted that they were here today to witness the completion of projects they initiated. Together, united as one Ekiti, there is no limit to what we can achieve. Let us continue to work hand in hand for the development of our state and the well-being of all our people.

I am delighted to share our efforts in empowering local farmers. Yesterday, we organized a training program for 80 constituents engaged in agricultural business, focusing on poultry farming, in Ikole Ekiti.

Today, I had a meeting with the Special Advisers on Security to the Governors of Osun, Kwara, Kogi, Ondo, and Ekiti States to discuss strategies and exchange ideas on how to improve our regional security architecture. At the meeting, we developed concrete action plans to enhance our security strategy and coordination among security personnel. Our top priority is the security of the lives and property of our people, and we are committed to working towards achieving this goal until the end of our time in office.

I had the honour of addressing an audience of global business leaders, investors, and policymakers at the 2024 US-Africa Business Summit in Dallas, USA. It was a great opportunity to showcase the investment opportunities available in Ekiti State.  During my session on “Invest in Nigeria,” I emphasised the potentials that our state has to offer, citing the success stories of the turnaround of Ikogosi Warm Springs by CAVISTA Holdings, the Ikun Diary Farm in partnership with Promasidor, and the $80 million investment from AfDB in our Ekiti Knowledge Zone project, among others. I urged investors to take advantage of Nigeria’s favourable investment climate and invest in Ekiti State.  The positive feedback I received from the audience was overwhelming, and I am confident that we will see more investments coming into our state. Our administration remains committed to making Ekiti a better place to live, work, and invest. This is truly the right time to invest in Nigeria. Indeed, it is the right time to invest in Ekiti.

Did you know? Nigeria alone accounts for 26.8% of all malaria deaths worldwide, making it one of the four African countries responsible for over half of global malaria fatalities.
