Congratulations on 5 years of sobriety to Dean! 🎉
“Five years alcohol free today!
When I got sober, I wasn’t chasing a perfect life, I was just trying to stop the toxic cycle.. I had always wanted to break generational trauma and take my health seriously (to build better habits so when I had a family someday, they would grow up with something different than what I knew). That motivation is what solely pushed me to abruptly stop.
Back then, I didn’t know what my life would look like. I just knew I had to change mine. So I took the leap and tried to trust myself before I had any proof it would work.
Now here I am: A girl dad, with a beautiful partner, a life that feels grounded, and the family I had so deeply desired. I even got my childhood dream dog who (ironically) is now my daughters childhood dog.
I dove straight into the choppy waters to discover if I could sink or swim. Sobriety didn’t make my life perfect it has been a really hard path. But here we are and I’m Happy.
Remember, recovery looks like SO many things. If you are going through (or thinking of) that path- I’m always here!”

I remember the fog that once filled my days and the quiet shame I carried. One small promise at a time, I chose clarity over escape. The path was slow, sometimes lonely, yet steady. Today I breathe easier, grateful for ordinary mornings and the quiet strength I keep practicing daily.
