@ThinkLikeOwners podcast just hit 100,000 all time downloads! Thank you to everyone who made this possible, especially folks who were kind enough to be early guests when downloads were much closer to 0. I'm so excited for where this podcast is going, much more to build!

@timhanso Definitely not OSHA compliant. Not making fun of it - I'm genuinely concerned. That's a bad situation waiting to happen.

Images like this are a good reminder that for all of our incredible feats, the world is held together by bubble gum and string...and Microsoft Excel.

@benton_moss I went in to the office for a few minutes yesterday and had a chance conversation with a coworker I hadn't seen in months. It was excellent, and I didn't know why it felt so different than "normal" until this tweet. Great point!

@ZachQuick12 Reading the replies. Engineer here who works w/ surveyors a decent bit. Suffice it to say, Yes, it’s more involved/skilled than you’d think. Maybe easy to run an instrument and find property pins, but that’s a small part of the ballgame.

@WilsonCompanies @StrongpointRich I enjoy the demonizing of charitable contributions by some... “oh he just did it for the write off!!!” Um, if so, he doesn’t understand that 60% of $1 is greater than 0% of $1

I dont understand the drive to pay so little in taxes that you dont make any money. I just had my hundredth conversation where someone bragged about how little their taxes were but stripped their income to nearly nothing to do it. Is it just the "feeling" of writing the check?

5/final I'm excited to continue studying how experienced SMB acquirers buy then transition into new ownership role The level of patience needed, ability to gather input, and the challenge of doing both while still remaining the decision makers is precise and impressive

We are exploring franchising our residential division I'm noticing that the steps to a successful SMB acquisition has similar characteristics to what I gather onboarding a new franchisee is like. I want to study this. A thread:

@WilsonCompanies Anyone used MS Access? I’m setting it up now (first time using Access) and it’s not as easy as a made-for-CRM program, but it’s free and I can make it as simple or complex as I want.

What are people using as a CRM to track acquisition dealflow? Had some recommendations for Hubspot.

Craziest or most surprising tax write-off you've ever seen or heard about? Points for scary and aggressive OR hilarious. Bet @girdley bought drinks and meals for everyone at the Chili's, told them some SPACtastic jokes and wrote it off as PR... Love ya, girds. Let's hear um!

@BrentBeshore I moved my family multiple states away to a house we had first seen only hours before. I killed a spider on the threshold and hundreds of baby spiders exploded in all directions. Not an enjoyable evening for us.

Last week was windy and I was on a walk. I noticed my legs kept getting hit with what felt like dirt, but then I realized it was bugs, lots of little bugs. Upon closer look, it was thousands of baby spiders blowing like tiny tumble weed, then crawling up my legs. Sweet dreams.

Sure there will be the select group who join the preppies, change their vacation habits, start saving that emergency fund, or start working from home full time. But overall, life will look pretty similar in 2022 as it did in 2019. Maybe with more hand soap consumption.

I’m not one for making predictions - so I’m going to now. Many people asking “what will change after this?” There may be some short term changes - elderly not traveling & less people shaking hands/hugging in public. But humans have an inherent ability to revert back to the mean.

@markbrooks Plot twist - they trademark it and set up a team of attorneys to fleece middle schoolers for $2 every time they draw one. Unbelievable revenue stream for decades.

Here's a little bright spot for the day: I've been working w/ some people from my church to teach a Faith and Finances course in the Chesapeake jail. @WAVY_News did a piece on it. Currently on hold, but we're hoping to continue somehow through this crisis! wavy.com/news/local-new…
