@ishowcybersec Probably @Ubuntu or @Linux_Mint. I like @fedora but I've been doing this a while. I'm told @bazzite_gg is good because it installs a lot of packages the Fedora team deliberately defaults uninstalled (for licensing reasons) packages most would need for media playback and such.
If there was a killer use case for this "powerful agentic experience," surely they'd be touting it. But instead we are sold the ability to do things we can already do, just with less security and privacy.
Researchers at the University of Genoa’s RICE lab have introduced Porcospino Flex, a bio-inspired robot built to move through places where standard wheeled or legged robots cannot operate.
Its design takes cues from segmented invertebrates, featuring a flexible, 3D-printed spinal structure that can bend, compress, and reshape itself.
The body uses meta materials made from thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), which cut the total weight down to 3.6 kg while increasing impact resistance.
Locomotion: Instead of using many joints or tracks, Porcospino Flex moves with one continuous track that wraps around its body. Steering happens through an internal wire and winch system, which bends the body laterally to help it adapt to rough ground while keeping traction.
This setup lets the robot travel through tight or cluttered spaces like collapsed buildings, industrial pipes, or EV battery compartments, where traditional or modular snake robots often fail. The demo video shows how its flexible body and constant track contact let it move steadily through debris without complicated gait control.
@hiarun02 Perhaps a better question is which Desktop environment are you comfortable with? Once youre comfy with your DE, then deciding distro specific stuff. You can pretty much run most DE's on top of any distro. TLDR pick a DE and decide the distro later.
@thatstraw If you want to install fedora, you might want to prepare a post installation guide or search it after you install it is fine too...
It's not hard and its probably the last time you see the terminal.
@thatstraw No, a beginner should use Mint or Zorin! Fedora is good but you need to be intermediate level for it since it expects you to install all the packages you want. Mint and Zorin come pre-installed with all the essentials.
I tried Fedora and liked it a lot. The only problem is the lack of office 365 support. I know I could be using Libre Office, but it's not as good...
I also found myself using the terminal more than I expected to which is not a big issue but I can see how it could be some others.
