@the_transit_guy beautiful thing. unfortunately someone did run up, grab the telescope, and try to bludgeon him with it. he ducked in time but the telescope connected with another person behind him and fractured their jaw.

This man who placed his telescope in the middle of a Brooklyn road to show strangers what Saturn looks like has done more for traffic calming than any elected official in the lower 48. Let’s protect this man at all costs.

🧵 While researching 19th/20th century illustrators. I noticed a very recurring theme, all the artist that were featured/shared about where, men. So here’s a list of talented female illustrators that I had absolutely never heard about. Feel free to suggest some more to add!

@johnbaileyowen Selective breeding and some choice crispr edits. Anything else would require significant understanding of vacuolar swelling in said plant, how they regulate the fate of their meristem cells, etc. Breeding is the lowest barrier to entry. Start crossing lithops :)

Life goals, but with funky flowers. Plant eng is gonna be such a fun retirement (as if I'm not gonna die with a pipette in my hand). Just wanna make some cute blossoms. There is a great peace in knowing that no matter what happens in my life, my practice of biology will continue.

It just seems especially impossible to continue believing when there's an actual material, and it doesn't have the properties. But yes. I suppose there's no real secret to it.

Motion test for Miles. I can’t remember if this was meant to be in the film or if it was just for reference, but it exists and I enjoyed drawing it.
