@johnclark237 @BarDown Point differential doesn’t mean nearly as much as depth, Tampa can score on all 4 lines and overall have more offensive points split between all players, however for Edmonton they have 1 line that does most the scoring and points. Way way more depth from Tampa. Way better team

The fact it isn’t consensus that kucherov is the MVP is ridiculous. Mcdavid, mackinnon and celebrini all have a significantly easier level of competition playing in the west. Everyone loves the celebrini stat that he’s leading his team by 50pts(which is only bc will smith missed 22games), but haven’t seen one person mention kuch isleading his entire CONFERENCE by 30pts. Just on a completely different level

@PeteBlackburn @marcsudbury4 It’s very comparable i remember wanting Tampa to fall to the wc spot just to go up the metro side of the bracket. Toronto literally got out of the first round once because of this format.

@marcsudbury4 it's not comparable to what's happening this year. the Central has 3 of the league's top 5 teams and the Pacific is a disaster

Most years I don't have a problem with the playoff format, but this year it really is gonna get exposed a bit -- especially in the West. NHL needs to do more to prioritize rivalries in the regular season instead of first round of playoffs
