A huge privilege this AM to join military veterans & the @BreconCathedral congregation to mark the anniversary of the Battle of #Isandlwana & the Defence of #RorkesDrift in words & music. A moving reunion of old comrades & powerful reminder of #Brecon's status as garrison town 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Last night's community carol service at Brecon Cathedral, Powys, like those happening across the country, takes inspiration from the Christmas story which encourages us to consider the experiences of others and the important human need of giving and receiving empathy.

Brecon has a proud military tradition and it was an honour to lay a wreath at the cenotaph and to join the dais party for the march past by Gurkhas, @IBSBrecon, Cadets, @mawwfire, @BreconMRT and others, and afterwards attend a service @BreconCathedral with an inspiring sermon
