we have one of those plastic activity stations for the baby and it is one of the few places he will let me put him down and that is great, but every day i look at it and flinch and think of @simonsarris. my home is so beautiful and this plastic thing so monstrously out of place.

I'm conflicted. I support the Postal Service. But I also have 6 years of unopened mail in my apartment because I can't figure out how to get companies to stop sending me snail mail. I only want mail that *I* have requested.

The traditional problem here is that without someone in charge of the housing (a resident advisor or similar), rapey guys move in and start sexually harassing or raping people.

Lots of people's social & romantic lives could be vastly improved if it was normal for young adults to live in college dorm-style accommodation in city centres until they were ready to set up home properly. Why doesn't this exist? I think there would be a market for it!
