"In Search of Transcriptomic Correlates of Neuronal Firing-Rate Adaptation across Subtypes, Regions, and Species: A Patch-seq Analysis" doi.org/10.1101/2024.1… A new paper from our team! This work was completed in Wang's lab in collaboration with Yijie Kang and others.

In summary, the dPC framework explains when top-down signals are inhibitory vs. excitatory. It unifies diverse findings and offers testable predictions. We hope this opens new paths for theoretical and experimental work on predictive coding. #Neuroscience #PredictiveCoding

Who could have imagined that a small idea could snowboall over three years into a multi-scale study, spanning from single genes to cross-species comparisons? We hope the methodology here will serve as a paradigm for leveraging genetic data in electrophysiological research.

I just attended a great conference, but can’t help feeling disillusioned when I see certain organizing decisions, originally intended to promote diversity, going off to a strange direction. (1/7)

Neuroscientists can now record neural activity at an unprecedented scale, and have mapped out connectomes and transcriptomes at single-cell resolution. How do we incorporate them into brain-wide models? Check out our @CosyneMeeting @Cosyne2024 workshop: sites.google.com/view/brainwide…
