My sources in the IDF confirm that the ceasefire in Lebanon is on the verge of collapse. The IDF, which never obeyed the ceasefire much to begin with, is planning to restart the war in full at a moments notice: 1) The IDF has conducted daily airstrikes and ground operations during the truce, targeting what it calls "imminent threats" or militants crossing its "forward defense line". These strikes have reportedly killed several people, including civilians and a journalist. 2) On April 21 and 22, Hezbollah launched its first rocket and drone strikes since the truce took effect, targeting Israeli positions in northern Israel and southern Lebanon. The group claims these were "defensive acts" in response to Israeli aggression. 3) A core Israeli demand is the disarmament of Hezbollah, which the Lebanese government has struggled to enforce for years. Hezbollah refuses to unilaterally hand over weapons while Israeli forces remain in Lebanon, leading to a strategic deadlock. 4) Israel has established a military zone extending roughly 10km (6 miles) into southern Lebanon, which it intends to keep under its control to root out Hezbollah. Lebanon and Hezbollah reject this as an illegal occupation that violates the ceasefire's premise. 5) Prime Minister Netanyahu has vowed that Israeli troops will not withdraw. On April 19, the IDF published a map of its "Forward Defense Line," bringing dozens of Lebanese villages under its direct control. 6) Defense Minister Israel Katz has instructed the military to use "full force" to demolish booby-trapped buildings, roads, and structures near the border that could serve as Hezbollah outposts. 7) Israel is actively preventing hundreds of thousands of displaced Lebanese civilians from returning to their homes within this zone. 8) There are diplomatic talks in DC, but Israel is not taking them seriously. Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Netanyahu, believe the Lebanese government is unable to enforce any agreement on Hezbollah. Without the group's disarmament, a central Israeli demand, Israel views a permanent peace as "a fantasy". 9) The only wildcard is Trump. Israel is hoping that as talks with Iran continue to fail, Trump will lose interest in trying to reign Israel in. That is the only thing stopping Israel from restarting the operation. Expect a renewal of the drive to the Litani very soon. Probably on the pretext that Hezbollah "broke the ceasefire."

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee and Secretary of State Marco Rubio will take part in upcoming direct talks between Israel and Lebanon, a US State Department official said, CNN reported. According to the official, Huckabee will join the US delegation for the negotiations, while Rubio is also expected to participate in the talks. The discussions are part of ongoing diplomatic efforts involving Washington, Israel and Lebanon.
