Every time I think "let's take the kids somewhere" — it turns into a tiny planning puzzle: - Is it indoors? - Is it stroller-friendly? - Will the kids actually enjoy it? - Can we decide before everyone gets hungry? So I built something. Not a big app. Just a small map to help me decide faster. Kiddo Map 🗺️💛 For KL parents who just want to go — without the overthinking. Still a prototype. Still rough around the edges. But if you're a KL parent, I'd love to know what you think. 👉 kiddo-map.vercel.app

Love this, Timo. I'm Johnny, based in Kuala Lumpur. I'm currently building a small prototype for parents here — a tool to help make better decisions on where to go and what to do with kids. kiddomap.ai I'm building it because I need it myself. Dad life, limited time, real problems. Let's see where this goes.
Timo 🌱@TimoBuilds_

This post got me +144 followers overnight. And i just realized i somehow crossed 3,000 FOLLOWERS 🥳 Still feels weird. So maybe it’s time to introduce myself properly: I’m Timo from Germany. Not a full-time founder (yet). I’m doing this on the side while handling: > a 9–5 as a team lead in IT project management in public sector > dad life with a little one > being in relationship with my wifey for almost half of my life > building things that solve my own problems > 1st app failed: ergonomify to keep moving at the desk > currently building and distributing FocusMap as feedback solution Most of my SaaS building happens: early before work, late after work, and as always while walking at my desk. You can probably see the pattern already: Movement is what keeps me going. It all started at +30 kg. Back then: sport taught me discipline. Today that same discipline helps me build. Mostly that means walking and moving while hustling. Sometimes it’s running for new PRs (like a marathon next year). Sometimes it’s cycling 200 km on a weekend (like last one) because apparently sitting still is not my strength (and breaks me). So if you like reading about building SaaS with limited time, movement, family, discipline, and figuring things out in public, you’re probably in the right place. Now it’s your turn. I’d love to get to know you too: Who are you, are you moving too, and what are you building right now?

This hits close. After getting laid off, I also had that moment where I asked myself: "Do I really want to go back to the same 9–5 routine?" So I started building my own product. Just trying to ship, learn, and hopefully get my first customer. Maybe this is the start of something new.

The scariest part of getting laid off wasn’t losing the paycheck. It was realizing I didn’t want to go back to engineering. I’d been a software engineer for six years when it ended. I kept opening Figma instead of my code editor. At some point, I had to be honest with myself. A year later, I have: - clients I love - a YouTube channel that brings in work - a wedding app I’m designing and building myself - projects I get to work on with my husband Chris None of this was in the plan when I got that layoff email, so cheers to the first year of many❤️

Spent a lot of time today optimizing kiddomap.ai for mobile. Tested it myself, and the experience feels pretty smooth now. Still, the recommendation logic needs more work. Shipping first. Improving next.

I had the slowest start to X. It took me 3 months to reach my first 100 followers. 12 months to reach 800 followers. 16 months to reach 1,000 followers. But today, I have an audience of 31,000 followers and I'm making $7,000/month writing. Success is around the corner. Keep going.

Just bought 2 domains today. One for KiddoMap — my first project. One for something I'm not ready to talk about yet👀 Building in public is scary. Buying the domain makes it real. #buildinpublic #indiedev

We got an 8-figure acquisition offer 2 days after launch. We said no, because the problem we're solving is worth way more than that. It’s 2026, but teams are only getting lonelier, and context is still the problem. The issue isn’t intelligence. Your team has plenty of that. It’s shared memory and context, the thing that makes 10 A-players feel like 1. That’s what we’ve solved with @playdotfast, while making work more fun. We're killing traditional SaaS, and believe you me, we're leaving no holds barred.

I was curious too, so I asked AI to sanity-check it. Solo ceiling = automation × market size × pricing. The only lever a solo founder can truly control is automation. If every new user adds more manual work, the ceiling comes much earlier. My rough take: $300K–$500K/month is possible, but extremely rare — and usually only when the product can run itself.

GM vibe coders, what tools are you using? i'm using Codex. it's fast, but the limit runs out way too quickly. thinking about upgrading, but revenue is still $0. hard to justify spending more before making anything back. how do you decide when to pay for better tools?
