One of his largest donors, who also contributed to Project 2025, included private prison operators. Many of them have introduced “Private Security Screening Services” for secure checkpoints. Project 2025 pushed to privatize TSA as a kickback to them. It’s all corruption for profit.

US President Donald Trump proposed to begin privatizing airport security operations handled by the Transportation Security Administration, in an effort to save money, per Reuters

Obama failed to deliver the sanctions relief that was agreed in the JCPOA. Trump tore it up. The Iranians, in a remarkable achievement of European diplomacy, kept their side of the bargain. But Biden refused to go back to the deal, demanding further concessions. The problem is far deeper than Trump. And it is deeper than even party politics. A serious state would’ve built on the opportunity for a broader rapprochement to solve the problem posed by Iran. But that idea could not even be proposed bc of the hold of the lobby and the broader warmongering community of the Blob. We’re institutionally incapable of good policy it seems. In the fantasy world of the Biden mechanics, the Palestinians could be put in a box, Iran could be put in a box permanently. When the illusion was broken on Oct 7, there was no serious reconsideration. Instead, we supported the genocide and Bibi’s wars of aggression. It was all going to be fine, bc we were just so fucking powerful. Who needs soft power when you have bombs? There is no room for any serious thinking on foreign affairs. It is impossible to point out, for instance, that the Israeli idea of imposing military primacy on the whole region cannot possibility work. No sir, we will bash our heads against the wall but not control our outlaw protectorate. This is how we got here, why we are watching the destruction of the American world position.
Eric Brewer@BrewerEricM

I think most people who supported the JCPOA (myself included) were keenly aware of its limitations. But let’s take these criticisms point by point. These arguments seem historical, but they have relevance for the present and the future. 1/

The IDF has informed the Israeli cabinet that the air war has reached the limits of its effectiveness in its current form of focusing on military targets. Ron Ben Yishai, Israel's premier military analyst says Israel is considering two paths: 1) Gradual infrastructure degradation. The progressive destruction of bridges, power stations, and transport links to make the regime unable to provide basic services. The downside: it takes time, allows adaptation, and lets Iran continue disrupting oil markets and striking Israel meanwhile. 2) The "Dahiya Doctrine": Ben-Yishai's preferred recommendation. This involves pre-warning civilians to evacuate specific neighborhoods in Tehran, particularly those housing families of senior regime officials and Revolutionary Guard commanders, then completely flattening those areas from the air. He argues making senior IRGC commanders personally homeless and displaced would, in his view, make them far less willing to reject Trump's ceasefire offers. Neither of these options will work. But they are both based on the intentional and massive commitment of war crimes.

When Polymarket hosts bets on outcomes affecting hundreds of thousands of ppl in Iran and/or the global south no one blinks. But the moment it involves a single American pilot suddenly we’re confronting the ethics. The double standard in how human life is valued is staggering.

This is a falsehood. Undocumented immigrants are not eligible for federal assistance. Virtually all are working hard; often extremely hard, 80+ hours a week, and face exploitation from unscrupulous employers. Many *literally* build this country; 50% of Texas construction workers!
Lydia Moynihan@LydiaMoynihan

America has always been a nation of immigrants. But in the 1800s, immigrants came here to BUILD this country. No welfare, no handouts, just opportunity and hard work. Today millions cross illegally and immediately get on government assistance. That's not the same thing.

As soon as it was clear Trump had won in November 2024, Europe… including the UK… started being far more careful and selective about what intelligence we shared with the US. Around the same time, the UK and a small tight-knit group inside Five Eyes began running canary traps and barium meals with fake SIGINT fed to the Americans. It didn’t take long to see that the caution was completely justified. The US knows they’ve been marginalised and are no longer in the inner circle of trust. That’s why they’re now acting like they don’t want to be part of Five Eyes… when they’ve already been quietly pushed to the side anyway. Gabbard in particular knows she was caught by multiple canary traps. This obviously handicaps US operations… including protecting and advancing its economy, tech, and military edge. It’s obviously not permanent. But this is how things have to be done until the current White House team is gone and people who can actually be trusted are back in the reins.
Jim Ferguson@JimFergusonUK

🚨 FIVE EYES UNDER THREAT — TRUST IS FRACTURING The warnings are now out in the open. U.S. lawmakers are openly questioning intelligence sharing with European allies — including the UK. This isn’t just about NATO anymore. This hits the core of the Five Eyes — the most sensitive intelligence network on Earth. The concern? Trust. If allies are seen as: • Unreliable • Politically unstable • Reluctant to act Then intelligence sharing becomes a risk — not a strength. And right now, under Keir Starmer, the UK is being viewed in some circles as exactly that. This is how alliances break: Not with announcements…But with doubt. If Five Eyes fractures…The global intelligence balance shifts overnight.

The majority of zionists are white Christians. That's not a controversial take that's just polling data

This morning's @cbcradio by Toby Waterman describes "Christian Zionism." First, there's no such fucking thing. Two, it's blaming Jews for a story about evangelical Christians. Three, CBC has fallen so, so far. I talk about it in this.

🇦🇷🇮🇱 BREAKING: Argentina's Plan Andinia Is No Longer a Theory, It's a Filed Government Document We covered this months ago when Patagonia was burning, now the documents are in black and white. A leaked Argentine government file (MS-26) reveals a "preventive plan" to receive up to 300,000 Israeli refugees — exclusively Israeli citizens, zero provision for Iranian or other civilian war victims. Separately, expediente AR-MOPU-ISR-0426-7781, filed March 8, 2026, proposes a private settlement in Patagonia called "Barrio Privado Josué, Profeta de Israel," 100,000 hectares of fire-scorched land. Four times the size of Gaza. Construction set to begin April 2026. Milei gutted fire management budgets by 81%, repealed post-fire land-use protections, and opened migration pacts for Israeli nationals, while fires cleared the very land now being developed. We said it then. The documents are saying it now.

Applebaum's piece is worth reading slowly because the specific details are doing work that the summary can't. Danish military commanders - inside a NATO alliance the United States founded - had to sit in a room and war-game whether their forces would shoot down American planes and kill American soldiers. Some of them still haven't fully recovered from running that exercise. The most popular app in Denmark during Applebaum's visit was one that identifies American products so users know not to buy them. NATO has invoked Article 5 exactly once in its history. On behalf of the United States. After September 11th. Allied troops went to Afghanistan and some of them died there. Trump told reporters those allies "stayed a little back, a little off the front lines." The families of soldiers who didn't come back heard that. Now Trump is in the middle of a war in the Persian Gulf with the Strait of Hormuz locked, oil prices spiking, and he's telling NATO allies - the same ones he insulted and tariffed and threatened - that he's "demanding" they come help solve a problem his own decisions helped create. Applebaum's conclusion is precise: he doesn't connect what he does on one day to what happens weeks later. Allied leaders have drawn their conclusions. The rupture, as Mark Carney called it, isn't coming. It already happened.

Trump has insulted and tariffed his European allies, persuaded Denmark to prepare for a US invasion and, by pressuring Ukraine and not Russia, encouraged Putin to keep fighting. All of which he has forgotten. theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/03/…

El Paso, TX — Earlier this week, a disturbing video from El Paso shows officers serving a warrant on a 28‑year‑old autistic woman inside her own home. In the footage, multiple officers force her to the ground; one officer punches her directly in the face while she screams that she cannot breathe. Her family reports that officers also tased her multiple times during this encounter. This incident should alarm every person who cares about civil rights, disability justice, and basic human dignity. A young autistic woman in crisis was treated like a threat instead of a patient in need of help. We are calling for a thorough, public investigation, the immediate release of all body‑camera footage, and real accountability for every officer who chose violence over de‑escalation.

NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT HOW FUCKED THIS ACTUALLY IS Germany just told every man aged 17 to 45: you need our permission to leave. Not during a war. RIGHT NOW. In 2026. You want to study in Spain? Ask the military. Job offer in Canada? Ask the military. Backpacking Southeast Asia for 4 months? ASK THE FUCKING MILITARY. And here's the part people keep skipping: The government doesn't need parliament to call up troops anymore. They wrote that into the law. Every 18-year-old boy must declare online if he's willing to serve. From 2027, mandatory medical screenings begin for boys born 2008 and later. Germany just compared itself to Ukraine without saying the words. Ukraine banned men from leaving after the war started. Germany did it before. That's the difference nobody wants to admit.
