For those who don’t like my “complicated” explanations of our complex 20yr agenda in the Middle East, here’s an easy 3-step way to see that Mike Flynn is part of this shadow policy agenda. Step 1. Mike Flynn, Bijan Kian, and James Woolsey all worked together at Flynn Intel Group.
Stringwall 🇺🇸🇺🇸@StringwallApp

Now back to Woolsey: “Woolsey was a member of Flynn's firm, the Flynn Intel Group, according to a Justice Department filing by the firm and an archive of the company's website” reuters.com/article/us-usa…

President Trump's $1.776 billion settlement with the IRS is one of the single most corrupt acts in American history. They moved fast to avoid the scrutiny of the judicial process, and very likely violated the Constitution. This is an outrage.

This is a THEFT far worse than Watergate. There is no other word for it. They are stealing $1.78 BILLION dollars to pay Trump‘s allies, despite knowing that these people are not legally entitled to any money and be laughed out of court if they filed a lawsuit for money damages.
Sam Stein@samstein

Ok. so they really went ahead and did a $1.766 BILLION slush fund for MAGA. it will "come from the judgment fund, which is a perpetual appropriation allowing DOJ to settle and pay cases." justice.gov/opa/pr/justice…

🚨Justice Department Announces Anti-Weaponization Fund: Part of settlement agreement in President Donald J. Trump v. Internal Revenue Service Per the settlement, plaintiffs will receive a formal apology but no monetary payment or damages of any kind. There are no partisan requirements to file a claim. Any money left when the Fund ceases operations will revert to the Federal Government. There is legal precedent for such a Fund, most notably the “Keepseagle” case where the Obama Administration created a $760 million fund to redress various claims alleging racism against the federal government over a period of decades. 🚨 🚨 Monterey County residents should pay very close attention to Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting. Buried beneath the normal rhythms of government are several decisions involving millions in taxpayer dollars, law enforcement powers, public health spending, infrastructure priorities, and long-running transparency concerns that deserve far more public attention than they usually receive. First, there is the late-added discussion regarding opposition to a proposed federal detention center in Gilroy. For immigrant families and communities already uneasy about federal immigration enforcement, this is not theoretical. It raises serious questions about detention expansion in our broader region and whether local elected officials will move beyond statements and symbolism. Then there is perhaps the most remarkable item of the day. Monterey County’s proposed 7 million dollar purchase of the troubled Quadrangle / Department of Social Services building at 1000 South Main Street in Salinas. Longtime residents know this building has been controversial for nearly two decades. Years of litigation, allegations of financial mismanagement, deferred maintenance, roof leaks, receivership, and mounting legal costs now culminate in a proposal for taxpayers to purchase the same building outright. Many still remember questions raised years ago about the original deal structure and why red flags appeared to go ignored. The public deserves answers before another major public commitment is made. 🚨 On law enforcement and oversight, the Board will revisit the Sheriff’s military equipment policy under AB 481. This matters. The Board is being asked to determine whether military-style equipment remains necessary, cost effective, and compatible with civil liberties protections. At a time when public trust in institutions remains fragile, residents should know exactly what equipment is being authorized and how it has been used. The Board will also consider 2.5 million dollars in Measure AA spending tied to road and infrastructure projects. Taxpayer funded infrastructure matters, but so does transparency. Residents should ask how projects are prioritized, whether resources are distributed fairly countywide, and what measurable outcomes taxpayers should expect. Meanwhile, hidden in consent are major spending items that rarely receive public debate despite their size and long-term consequences. Nearly 12 million dollars in Behavioral Health appropriations are being added to accommodate anticipated costs. Election software contracts approach 1 million dollars through 2031. A jail RFID tracking technology agreement stretches to 2035. Emergency dispatch technology contracts continue to expand. Public health fee increases and new electric vehicle charging fees are also quietly moving forward. This is often how local government works. The largest decisions are rarely dramatic. They are folded into lengthy packets, technical language, and consent calendars most people never read. Which is exactly why public engagement matters. Tuesday, May 19 Public meeting begins at 10:30 a.m. Join by Zoom: montereycty.zoom.us/j/224397747 Meeting ID: 224 397 747 Watch. Ask questions. Submit public comment. Government accountability does not happen automatically. It happens when the public pays attention.

They traded Ukraine for Iran.
Nick Schifrin@nickschifrin

Beyond Ukraine, readout says @POTUS and Putin "discussed the need to stop proliferation of strategic weapons and will engage with others to ensure the broadest possible application. The two leaders shared the view that Iran should never be in a position to destroy Israel." It adds that there will be US-Russia "enormous economic deals and geopolitical stability when peace has been achieved."
