Pavement parking isn't just inconvenient, it's dangerous. Wheelchair users, older residents and people with sight loss as well as parents with pushchairs and school children, are too often forced into the road, risking their safety.
I met with the Walton Macular Group to hear these challenges first-hand.
Then, in Parliament, I urged the Government to:
- Ban pavement parking and give councils the power to enforce
- Launch a public education campaign to encourage drivers to park with care and consideration
Everyone deserves safe, accessible streets.

Since being elected last year I have been pushing the Government and Environment Agency to step up and tackle the overstay, wrecked, and abandoned boats which blight the banks of the Thames in our constituency.
For too long, political inertia meant that nothing was done about them. I’m determined to fix it.
Today - another success - after pressure I’ve put on the Environment Agency and the Government, (including a parliamentary debate I secured on it!) - more boats are being moved including in Hurst Park in Molesey and Desborough Cut.
I will keep driving action forward, putting my constituents first.

Words of the most ardent/only GBBL supporter - a man who'd probably rather see the entirety of British basketball burnt to the ground than watch the SLB operate at all. Don't think there's as good a Freudian tell as this one - he knows the GBBL is no provision at all.

More action on overstay boats! I’m pleased to see Elmbridge Borough Council’s new Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) coming into force.
Going forward, boats will be subject to fines if they moor for more than 24 hours on Council owned stretches of our riverbank. This is welcome news and an important step in cleaning up our riverbanks.
Lib Dem and Residents’ Association controlled Elmbridge is doing their part, now the Environment Agency needs to do theirs for the rest of the river. I am pushing them hard and will keep up the pressure. Let’s make progress!
