Quanto ti sta simpatico Mattarella da 1 a 10? Personalmente gli darei un solido 8+. È un Presidente che incarna perfettamente il ruolo istituzionale: sempre misurato, elegante, rispettoso delle forme e delle Istituzioni. Un vero signore della Repubblica. Forse, in certi momenti, qualcuno avrebbe desiderato un tono più deciso o una parola in più su certi temi spinosi. Ma lui ha scelto la strada della compostezza e della pacatezza, quasi a voler essere un elemento di stabilità in un Paese spesso turbolento. Un classico “padre della patria” all’italiana. E voi che voto gli date?

Creo que esto va a salir muy mal. Si un ingeniero con talento quiere meterse una jornada laboral de 12 horas, se puede ir a EEUU y hacerlo por $200K-$500K al año. Alemania ni tiene sueldos altos, ni buen tiempo, ni es un sitio especialmente atractivo para vivir. Lo único que pueden ofrecer a alguien con talento para que trabaje allí, es el work-life balance. Si quitas lo único que te hace atractivo, estás muerto. El poco talento que queda en Alemania se va a largar.

Today, nuclear still provides around 69–70% of French electricity, giving France one of Europe’s cleanest and most stable power systems. The result is clear: France has avoided the extreme dependence on imported gas that damaged Germany, Italy and much of Central Europe after 2022. In 2025, France’s average wholesale electricity price was around €61/MWh, among the lowest large economies in Europe — higher than the cheapest Iberian markets, but far below gas-exposed countries like Germany, Italy, Austria, Hungary or Poland. This is the lesson for Europe: countries with strong domestic electricity production — Iberia through renewables, France through nuclear, the Nordics through hydro/wind — structurally enjoy cheaper and more sovereign energy systems. Europe needs more domestic energy production: nuclear, renewables, grids, storage and interconnectors.

Is your software is running in a simulation? Trust me, sometimes you really, really care. There used to be a really simple, single-instruction trick in x86 assembly, affectionally known as “the Red Pill”. SIDT is an (unprivileged!) instruction that tells you where the Interrupt Descriptor Table lives in memory. On bare metal, the IDT sits pretty low. Early VMware placed its virtualized IDT in a very high address, to avoid the guest colliding with the host. Very easy check, IDT high = you’re in a simulation! Most consider SIDT to be an actual flaw of x86 architecture design. In computer science terms, it fails the Popek-Goldberg test. Intel engineers didn’t anticipate the security risk in the 80s. The single instruction redpill doesn’t work anymore, hypervisors are way better now. We’ve got extra ring levels, multiple cores, KASLR, you can also trap + lie. But it was fun while it lasted! Of course, modern “red pills” are very advanced; anyone who’s worked in reverse engineering, malware, anti-cheat, DRM, (maybe timekeeping too?) is intimately familiar with VM detection. I’m curious if there are any other fields that very strictly check for emulation.

Comunque #pechinoexpress mi sembra super pilotato. Ho visto un pezzettino della tratta in Giappone e mi pare tutto abbastanza organizzato. I giapponesi non sono sempre così, non si approcciano in modo caloroso e "italiano" alle persone che non conoscono. Difficilmente ospitano in casa (soprattutto a Tokyo, dove le abitazioni sono buchi di pochi metri quadri) persone che non hanno mai visto prima. Cioè è tutto molto forzato🥲
