Q: Why do you support the #VoiceToParliament?
"The simple answer is because the Indigenous community has asked us to."
"The hard question is why would you say no?"
"How at this point in history would you think, ‘Nah they've had it too good for too long'?"

MP = Miserable Person
Peter Murphy@PeterWMurphy1
Dear @Twitter @TwitterAU Just FYI: @TimWilsonMP is NOT an MP. His delusion of still being relevant a year after losing his seat led him to grabbing a wreath meant to be laid by the actual MP's representative at an #AnzacDay ceremony this weekend. #auspol

‘What is critically important in understanding history is that the call for a voice to parliament is not a new initiative. Aboriginal activists nearly 100 years ago..called for a voice to parliament as part of their political platform..during the 1920s.’ theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

@aliceleung Qualifications do matter but as a mature aged student half way through my teaching masters I have to say the method of assessment with every subject is the same. We are constantly taught about the need to differentiate but all assessments are a 4000 word assignment

Uncompetitive pay and unsustainable workloads are driving teachers away. Resignations now outstrip retirements. All fast tracking will do is speed up a trickle of teachers into profession who then leave. #MoreThanThanks smh.com.au/national/nsw/t… 1/6

Research via a teacher survey is about as accurate as predicting election outcomes via phone polling

@dzyngier @JaneCaro @john_hattie @JasonClareMP @MehreenFaruqi @PublicEdVic @AGavrielatos @CHaythorpeAEU @AEUfederal Actually been teaching music in primary and secondary schools for 30 years and been a school support worker in a primary school recently.
Currently studying a masters in teaching - yes, just completed my first year on staff teaching in the classroom

@johnwcollinson @JaneCaro @john_hattie @JasonClareMP @MehreenFaruqi @PublicEdVic @AGavrielatos @CHaythorpeAEU @AEUfederal John UPI haven't even taught one year. Let's speak in 5 years mate.

If @john_hattie was an expert
and believed in bottom up change, he should listen to teachers who are clear "The problem is workloads, not pay". @JasonClareMP @MehreenFaruqi @PublicEdVic @AGavrielatos @JaneCaro @CHaythorpeAEU @AEUfederal

@JaneCaro @dzyngier @john_hattie @JasonClareMP @MehreenFaruqi @PublicEdVic @AGavrielatos @CHaythorpeAEU @AEUfederal I think there must be something else to the burnout issue - parent expectations, lack of leadership, …. Not sure
English

@johnwcollinson @dzyngier @john_hattie @JasonClareMP @MehreenFaruqi @PublicEdVic @AGavrielatos @CHaythorpeAEU @AEUfederal My daughter & niece are teachers. My sister is a principal. Not sure how you work or who you know, but I’ve spent my entire life in private enterprise & never worked as hard for as little as they do.
English

@JaneCaro @dzyngier @john_hattie @JasonClareMP @MehreenFaruqi @PublicEdVic @AGavrielatos @CHaythorpeAEU @AEUfederal I actually teach in a school, what you are saying is not my experience.
Teachers do work extremely hard but to say we have an extreme workload which is burning people out I just don’t see.
English

@johnwcollinson @dzyngier @john_hattie @JasonClareMP @MehreenFaruqi @PublicEdVic @AGavrielatos @CHaythorpeAEU @AEUfederal But it’s not accurate. Teachers get about 4 weeks holiday a year like everyone else. The rest is relief from face to face teaching, where they write lessons, keep up with latest in their subject & complete admin. Did you think they had fairies who did that work?
