Justice Sotomayor, dissenting: "Although the consequences of today's decision might be most pressing for the LGBT community, the decision's logic cannot be limited to discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. The decision threatens to balkanize the market and to allow the exclusion of other groups from many services. A website designer could equally refuse to create a wedding website for an interracial couple, for example. How quickly we forget that opposition to interracial marriage was often because 'Almighty God ... did not intend for the races to mix.'"

No business or organization open to the public should be allowed to mask discrimination behind the guise of free speech or religious liberty. The Supreme Court ruling in 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis disrespects the Constitution & disregards America’s promise of equality for all.

For the first time in history—and on the last day of #PrideMonth, no less—the Supreme Court legalized discrimination against a protected class. I am furious by today's decision to green light hate and limit the LGBTQI+ community's participation in our economy. Congress must act.

To recap: the Supreme Court overturned the right to an abortion, dismantled affirmative action, said ALL businesses can deny service to the LGBTQ+ community, & struck down President Biden's student forgiveness program. ALL IN ONE YEAR. You bet Gen Z is pissed off.

The Supreme Court ended affirmative action. The *how* of it is not very interesting: They killed it because they could. But why? Well, because affirmative action was the only policy where the whiteness card got revoked. My latest in @thenation thenation.com/article/societ…

If SCOTUS was serious about their ludicrous “colorblindness” claims, they would have abolished legacy admissions, aka affirmative action for the privileged. 70% of Harvard’s legacy applicants are white. SCOTUS didn’t touch that - which would have impacted them and their patrons.

Extremely good news everyone. For the first time, a federal court has ruled that gender affirming care bans are unconstitutional. This case has gone on for two years now. And for the plaintiffs, they finally find relief. No more unconstitutional bans on care.

BREAKING: A federal court permanently blocked an Arkansas law that would have banned gender-affirming care for transgender youth, finding the law violates the constitutional rights of transgender youth, their parents, and their medical providers.

Today we lost a movement giant, a dear friend, and a hero. Daniel Ellsberg, who faced decades in prison for telling the American people the truth about the Vietnam war, passed away from cancer. He was a peace activist until the very end. We love you, Dan.

Breaking: Abortion remains LEGAL in Iowa as Iowa Supreme Court splits 3-3 on @IAGovernor's effort to reinstate 2018 abortion ban. The split ruling leaves the lower court decision in effect under operation of law. So 2018 ban is still enjoined: iowacourts.gov/courtcases/183…

Can we just put the f%&king Sulphur back in the shipping fuels already- at least when at sea. The policy to remove worldwide is creating a termination shock. At least reverse the policy until we figure out a bloody plan to give us a chance. The oceans are being boiled!
